this game is generally a lot more clunky than the other souls games but its like, genuinely incredible. it does so many things better, like this game actually tells u if u miss a bonfire or even an entire area unlike dark souls 1 and 3!

if someones tells you this game is not good theyre just bad at the game

this dlc starts very good and then immediately turns into the worst thing uve ever played as soon as u need to find the loyce knights

the optional area and optional boss is also very much terrible

this dlc is just fantastic, so much new content on-par if not better than the base game. the bosses are fun, it has the obligatory ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ area and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boss but the majority of the content is really good

i want to talk to the guy that made the valiant gargoyle duo boss fight, i just want to talk

new characters and items are really fun, new game mode is also good but as far as i can tell doesn't give u any reward for reaching high waves (expected a few lunar coins at least)

some of the balance changes in this update are questionable, like time passing in the void fields and rusted lockboxes always containing a red, but in general this dlc is a positive addition to the game

new update broke the game on linux and they have no intend to fix this

i think ive never had a more mixed opinion on a game, it changes so many things and they mostly do not work at all. the poise changes are terrible and u get staggered by everything unless ure attacking. u can literally just stunlock havel in this game with any weapon.

leveling endurance and vitality is completely useless in this game which basically forces u to get havels ring if u want to wear heavier armor

if u play int the first decent int weapon u get is after killing pontiff sulyvahn, and also every staff has basically the same strength, so just level the starting staff because switching is genuinely not worth it.

this game has so many glaring issues, horrible bosses, bad hitboxes and the camera immediately breaks if an enemy dares to like, dash.

i still dont think the game is bad, coming from dark souls 2 which everyone called the worst game ever to this is just, weird? this game is just as flawed just in a very different way.

i dont think this game is bad, i think there are parts of this game that are genuinely great. its very much worth playing. the presentation and atmosphere is probably the best of the series, major bosses actually feel like characters and not just like obstacles. the poise changes dont really matter too much in the single boss fights and if u just play strength you probably wont have to deal with the god-awful balancing of other builds.

also the ashes of ariandel is unironically the worst thing fromsoft has ever created
