It's pretty alright for what it is, but very clearly needs more improvement in important areas.

It has the Melee mechanics I like (wavedashing/landing) and not the ones I don't like (l cancelling), but a lot of the characters take too much from the Melee top tiers, making it feel more of a copycat than a good original title.

It has pretty good netcode where I don't have many bad connections (I think it's a mixture of rollback and delay based, like MvCI), but there's something missing from the animation of everything keeping it from feeling smooth.

I'll give it props for being free to play so if I wanna play with someone I can, but the f2p starter fighters are the ones I hate playing (maybe let players pick 1 free fighter to start?).

They used the Unity engine which I'm assuming is for easier development, but it's not as well optimized as it could be (my laptop maxes 30fps low settings, but can run Tekken 7 60fps low settings).

Everything about it feels like it's going in the right direction. Just..... not there yet.

It's like a high school or college short film that progresses when you click on monsters like you're in the MMO in it. I'm fine paying the $1 for it through Humble Bundle, but full price is $8.99????? nooooooo, it's all done in less than an hour

All you guys saying there's few features in the game are ignoring that everything else is fantastic. In the words of one of the developers, “It is very difficult to turn a game that is fundamentally not fun, into a great game. On the other hand, it is very easy to add new bells and whistles to a game with a strong core foundation." And this game definitely has that strong foundation.

And let's be real here, features don't make or break a game's enjoyment nearly as much as the gameplay does.

The music in this game is freaking fantastic. All I ask is that it updates with the new character themes, since right now it doesn't have Alex's theme now that Alex is in the game.

It's okay I guess

I love the first 90% to death, I'm sorry but the last half of episode 5 pulled some stuff (no spoilers) that just made me lose the feelings I had for everyone. Outside that one little bit, it's an emotional roller coaster you'll probably love.

Don't get hit

After the long awaited patch, all my texture streaming complaints are gone and the game runs a lot more consistently (55-60fps, just under max settings on my 4.0GHz CPU, 780Ti GPU).

Under that you have a much improved combat system, mind bending story, humongous city (with no loading times, that's actually a pretty cool thing imo), good number of side missions, amazing next gen graphics, all adding up to a pretty amazing game.

All the fun of a platformer, except in first person. You'll get a good rush from running through the rooftops avoiding the police.

<3 My first and favorite indie game <3 Cute story, good mechanics, fun Metroidvania gameplay. I really should go back to it, seeing as I keep hearing there's a few endings to it.
