What can I possibly say about this..
In my time I have tried several MMORPG's and none of them have made me feel as welcome as Final Fantasy XIV. With a diverse cast of loveable characters, beatifully crafted environments, well written story and THE most open and welcoming fanbase this game keeps swallowing you in if you'll allow it.
You don't need several characters each as it's own class like some other RPGs, instead FFXIV lets you switch jobs with a click of a button, so you can level up every class on just one character.
Realm Reborn (the base game) is a bit slow and can be tedius at times, but when you finally start the quests for Heavensward and Stormblood things start to kick off.
The Endwalker launch was horrendous for it's long queue time to get into the game, but atleast the developers gave everyone registered at the time free gametime equal to the time the servers were bloated. There's plenty of incentive to keep playing after finishing the Main story questline with lots of side-quests, raids, dungeons and other side activities.
