Cute game with some fun platforming and charming characters.

The platforming isn't all that challenging without mods, but it controls so nicely and feels great regardless. The levels are set up in a fairly typical Mario 64/Sunshine way of hub -> level -> scenario, but each scenario is usually more involved than a "go here" level, which allows the game's characters and writing to shine (as well as presenting each scenario with its own title card, very cute). It's a bit short, probably around 7 hours on the first playthrough (10-12 getting 100%), which is a bit of a shame, although it's getting two free dlc in the future which should add at least an hour or two each, plus a fair number of level mods at the time of writing. The music is great, especially during the boss battles, which are all really fun as well. It's also really really cute. Hat Kid is adorable, and the work put into idle animations and cosmetic changes only serve to emphasize that.
