A very fun and unique open world adventure. It was refreshing to have quests and characters that were interwoven in such a way that you felt like each quest contributed to the greater overarching goal. Most games just have you arrive in a place, do a bunch of quests, then move on to the next area. The interdependent nature of the way the quests were designed made for a more satisfying and cohesive experience. The freedom to run/fly/glide anywhere, and stand on almost anything was a welcome addition, and the movement mechanics in general were enjoyable. Similarly the weapon mod system allowed for some very creative shooting combinations - some extremely powerful.

The game definitely has its shortcomings - audio was especially buggy and unstable at times, which is a shame because some of the audio design was impressive.
The ending also left a lot to be desired. It's clear they ran out of time towards the end of development, as the final couple of missions really phoned it in, with the story taking an absolute back seat to their clear need for some big set-piece boss fight. And the final cutscene... well, the less said about it, the better.

All in all though, a very fun game. The journey was the real destination.

You guys reeeeeally gave up at the end. Also, fix your checkpoints - not a single person enjoys being stomped by a battle, only to have to go back and do a janky-ass physics puzzle again. I give this two thumbs down, and may god have mercy on your souls.

The atmosphere is impeccable. The puzzles are (mostly) enjoyable. The music is beautiful.

The travel cutscenes are lovely and the animations are fantastic. But after the 30th time travelling back and forth on a mine cart, or a jet-rail train, or waiting for spinning orbs to come to a stop, open, close, load and open... it grows tedious, time-consuming and eventually straight-up frustrating.

Forgot one small clue on another island? There goes 10 minutes of nothing but travel and backtracking.

I appreciate the artists desire to show off all their amazing animation work. But at some point you have to understand that we've seen it, and we'd like to skip it. Same with the credits.

I can't in good conscience recommend this game when so much of it is padded with forced travel tedium.

Wanted this to be the successor to HOMM2 and HOMM3. It's not. Maybe it wasn't setting out to be. Though I don't think this game gets the power fantasy element that these games are supposed to provide. It's supposed to be fun to wipe the floor against other heroes. But when your entire army can be wiped out by a hero 10 levels lower than you, destroying entire stacks with a single spell, then the game is no longer fun, and has fallen in to tedium. Normal difficulty should not be a slog to min-max army composition.

Devs: Realize that for the player, we must invest dozens of turns (and real time) to generate an army capable of combat, then realize that it's no fun to then see that army ripped to shreds in seconds. "Git gud" is not the answer to this. Balance is.

Not fussed if the game is better or more balanced in Multiplayer; that's not why I play these games.

Presentation and music are great. Atmosphere is top-notch. Balance (both spells and AI) need a lot of work.

This ticked all the boxes. Eccentric humor, throwbacks to old point and click games, great puzzles and art style. I genuinely wish I could play this for the first time all over again, and that's not something I usually want to do.

Hi devs... Ummm, what the actual crap? I start this game, begin ~=~=THE FIRST MISSION=~=~... and there's literally NO explanation on how to play the game.
I'm not looking for fundamentals... how to move the camera, select and move units, that's pretty standard and assumed stuff. I'm talking: HOW DOES YOUR GAME WORK?!?! What am I looking at? What is this dumb building? Where do I build units from? Do you REALLY expect me to click around like a dumb ape, trying to figure out what goes where? I mean, I know tutorials are overplayed at this point... but damn, you could have done ANYthing other than this.

I guess we're just supposed to read through your extensive encyclopedia and then immediately "git gud scrub"?

You, and your game suck. No wonder this crap-shack failed, good riddance to bad rubbish.

Early Access Review
While it's early access and there are definitely some rough edges, there's a lot of promise here. It's great to have a VR game that allows friends to be involved. Certainly one to watch.
