This is a significant improvement over the previous game - 'The Political Machine 2016'. You can just tell it's a labour of love on the part of the developers. If you have enjoyed / enjoy Democracy 1, 2 or 3 or any other political-style game, then you'll undoubtedly love this. The additional of town halls was a true stroke of genius and adds yet another layer of complexity to the mechanics, but still remains approachable for a casual player. With more updates planned, I really recommend buying it if the above sounds appealing.

Wait until modders fix it
don't spend more than $40 on it

if anyone anywhere decides to throw a grenade in any direction, just give up
if you're trying to shoot over cover, expect floating bullet holes to appear in front of you
if you're trying to run away from something, expect to get stuck on a tiny object on the floor
when you inevitably get stuck somewhere you can't escape from, open the console and type tcl

It's not polished, it's not finished, it's full of lazily recycled assets, but it'll be good when the community fixes it

tldr it's literally skyrim with guns

Imagine buying an early access game except you have to pay $20 for every update, and if you don't buy the update, the game breaks

That's seriously what this is like. It's at $200 as of writing

Seriously just save your money or come up with.. other means of coming by the content

This is a good game.
A fantastic game, even. To my knowledge it's never really been done before (besides crusader kings I, obviously)
It's incredibly entertaining. You can do some absolutely hilarious things
Is it worth 40 USD? Of course
Does it cost 40 USD? Not quite

Yes, 194.49 218.46 USD. That's how much DLC is in this game. Remember all those youtube videos you watched? Remember how fun it looked? I can guarantee you most of the entertaining features you saw in that video are going to cost you at least another 5 USD each. Remember seeing that youtuber raiding england and pillaging all the churches as a viking warrior? 15 USD. Remember seeing them ruling mediterranean trade as the venetian republic? 10 USD. Remember how they conquered all of europe for the caliphate? 10 USD. Remember how they united india under one glorious empire? 15 USD. Remember how they designed their own character to conquer europe with? 5 USD.
Remember how not all of the different nationalities looked exactly the same? That's going to cost you another 2 USD per portrait set. Remember how not all of the units looked exactly the same? 2 USD per unit set. Remember all of that different music in the background? That's going to set you back as well

It's a great game
Would it be worth 40 USD? Yes
Is it worth 234.48 258.45 USD? No. Not at all. Which is why I couldn't possibly recommend it

Now, if there were a way to play the full game without spending hundreds of your hard-earned (insert currency here), then it would be a different story...

(EDIT) If you can catch it on a 75% sale like what's on until the 5th of october then that's a solid deal, just know that the 'collection' doesn't include all of the DLCs like you'd be forgiven for assuming
