Fun game, much better with friends. The whole PSN Account requirement pretty much killed any momentum this game had earlier this year but it is still very fun and arguably in its best state since launch at the moment. Highly recommend if you're looking for a co-op game with friends, similar to Deep Rock Galactic.

If you've read through plenty of Rainbow Six Siege reviews, many of them opt to not buy the Starter Edition.

I am one of those people who have bought the Starter Edition. I bought it when it came out in June 2016, and though I thought the game was fun at first, I realized how long the grind was going to be for this game. When completing a match, win or lose, you get 150 Renown (in game currency). If you win you get an extra 100, and sometimes you or other people may have boosters that boost the amount you earn by a bit. One standard operator costs 12,500 to unlock, excluding any operator sale. As you can see, it still is a massive grind, compared to that fact that buying the standard edition gets you all the base operators unlocked for free.

I have sunk quite a bit of hours into this game, and I have still not unlocked all the operators. The game is fun, sure, but there are many times that made me wish I had a specific operator. I have also thrown some money at this game as well, buying both Year 1 and Year 2 DLC operators and a R6 credit pack to unlock all the German ops.

The game is really fun to play, alone and with friends, and the community is actually amazing, but lately (for quite a while now), I've been wishing I bought the standard edition. Listen to your fellow reviewers! Don't buy the Starter Edition, if you plan to play this game!!! (Also I've seen standard edition prices go down to ~$12 in a Steam sale, which is only $3 more than the $9 starter edition during the sale. Recommend not cheaping out on that $3!!)

Just amazing. The graphics, the game, the animations, the story, the multiplayer, the free DLC, the unique feel of the game.... One of the best and funnest games I have ever played.
