The grid mechanic is a very elegant twist on the genre that, while simple, changes a tower-defense game into something far more active and engaging - it's got a very strong "one more round" pull. I'd encourage anyone even remotely interested in the genre to give it a shot, you won't regret it.

It's not a bad game. It does everything competently....but it doesn't excel *anywhere*. It's a straight-to-DVD movie, and at full retail price is absolutely not worth it considering the other options gamers have.

More good than bad. Quick adjustments and positive reaction to community feedback will make for a great RTS, given time.

If you can get past the low-fi aesthetic (use your imagination, you philistine!), this game is incredible. Both the breadth and depth of the game are huge in scope. If you like 4x's, give it a go.

Oh, and it lets you have a necromantic apprentice that goes insane, refuses to move, and gets trampled by a moose. What emergent gameplay!
