Most fun I've had in a shooter in years. A unique blend of ideas with an environmental destruction twist makes for a very high-octane and hectic experience.

Edit 15.10.24 - Season 4 is pretty good, not hard I suppose compared to Season 3, but there are still just baffling decisions that make me wonder who exactly is in charge and what ♥♥♥♥ are they smoking.

They nerfed the sniper and while it wasn't a broken weapon by any usage metrics, it was extremely oppressive because all other weapons are not suited for long range. I welcome the change to make it a projectile instead of hitscan, but I don't get why they would make it hitscan for 40m and a projectile after. It seems like such a half-assed solution when the Heavy pump-action shotgun is a projectile for its entirety and still way harder to play than sniper.
So they nerfed the sniper due to its range outclassing all other weapons, makes sense. But why the ♥♥♥♥ would you add a Medium weapon that can fill this gap with an even lower skill floor? This was especially evident on the new map where the gaps between areas are very open and of course it's depressing on Kyoto too.

The leaver problem is still going strong so if you don't have a full group to play with, have fun playing the team fill shuffle. No new gadgets is a big disappointment and while the sights are nice, this game is still lacking maps. One map per season is just not enough. I've noticed blatant cheaters for the first time this season which is disheartening too.

Edit 16.06.24 - I was kinda excited for Season 3 but after playing a decent amount, I've been pretty disappointed with where the game is and where it's headed.
The new weapons/gadgets are really lackluster compared to Season 2, game-breaking bugs have still not been fixed (and have somehow gotten worse), the push towards Terminal Attack is not where the game should be headed and the current balancing makes the game a lot less enjoyable than before. And then there's also the issue of people leaving occurring so frequently that it feels like there is either no punishment attached to it or it is not severe enough to curb it more effectively.

This has been my go-to FPS since it released back in December 2023 (after playing the Open Beta) but right now I'd rather play other games than have a miserable time with this one.

I'm keeping it on my radar, but looking back at how long it took to address prior balancing issues/concerns, I don't have faith the sweeping changes that I long for are coming anytime soon.
