Meh.

It looks good, and sounds good, but it's difficult to really get into it. There is way too much whooshing and swooping and movement, and not enough gameplay. If things happened faster, it might be better, but they are so hung up on the look of it that it takes you twice as long to play a match as it should. One top of that, it looks (from my few hours of gameplay) that most of the story lines--which most F2P card games offer as a means of building up your card collection--require purchasing with real money.

I've played Hearthstone, a little Gwent (in beta), and Magic in several forms, so I'm not really in the market for yet another way to waste my money.

You should try it. It's free. But don't put money into it until you have to, and until you are sure you enjoy it.

The game is not bad, but when I bought it (so long ago) I was expecting to be in my ship, flung to nether regions of space, having to scrounge and craft and build, jumping from one system to the next to find a way home.

Instead, I land in the middle of a universe 3-4x more populated than the one we live in. It was just not what I expected. tp give an analogy, I was expecting a game about being marooned on an island, and found out I was instead dropped into the middle of New York City. I gave it a good try to try to find a way to enjoy it, but it just wasn't for me.

It's not a bad game, just not what I thought it was when I bought it.

This game starts out driving slowly through the residential streets of Interesting. It comes up to the turn off to Scary, but goes right past, only to turn off onto the dirt road of Odd. Soon, you are off-roading into Ridiculous, then plunging blindly into Silly. Then, just as it is about to dive off the cliffs of Insanity, it makes a sharp turn to head straight towards Absurd.

Then, suddenly, there's a big bump as it hops the curb and you find yourself in downtown Awesome.

Early Access Review
So, I have no idea what this game is like in multiplayer. I don't want to find out. I got in a good 130 hours in single-player, and mostly enjoyed it. However--if you are going to ♥♥♥♥ in SP, you are basically going to either 1) do nothing but play this game or 2) build a mod. I don't have time for either one of those, so...

Then, on top of that, these jerks release paid DLC BEFORE the game is out of early access. So that means they have a game in ALPHA, that has not even reached the point of beta testing (and believe me, they aren't there) and they are already charging for "extras".

This means they either have spent all their money and are trying to stretch this gravy train as far as it will go, or they are crooks. I have had this game for more than a year and the optimization hasn't improved one bit. BUT they still found time to create and realease a FTP arena AND paid DLC. Either these people are profoundly incompetent, or they are crooked. There is no other interpretation.

Which is too bad. If they bothered to do their jobs, this game would be amazing. But it's not.

The game looks interesting, and the soundtrack is pretty good--sort of a cross between jazz and typical anime/videogame Japanese electro. Unfortunately, this thing careens from nonsensical plot to lame combat to disgusting characterizations to offensive misogyny like your drunken uncle at Thanksgiving discussing politics, his high school glory days and just how much your sister has developed in the last year. Not worth your time or your money.

A maddening "game". They most feedbackyou get is a grating and irritating "dong" when you try to do the wrong the thing. But there is no guide as to what you are supposed to do. Your avatar moves to slowly that you will have to fight the urge to fling your monitor across the room. Additionally, it will often decide to move entirely of it's own--you'll click on the image at the bottom of the screen and the game interprets this to mean that you wanted to move your bug to the top--and then locks all control while it sloooooooooooowly transitions to the screen above before you can click (IN THE SAME SPOT!!!) and then wait for it to sloooooooooooowly transition back down again.

When I reached a point that nothing I clicked on worked, and the in-game hint button also "dong"-ed at me, I decided I had enough. Save your money.

"Speak your mind, even if your voice shakes."--Maggie Kuhn

"Do the right thing."--Spike Lee

"Be excellent to each other." -- Bill S. Preston, Esquire, and "Ted" Theodore Logan

Not a game, but an incredible simulation. Buy it. Play it. Live it.

Consider this a sort of roguelike. While some people complain about the randomness, that is just silliness. Yes, the cards are laid down at "random" on the field, but how you play, which cards you choose (during the "four-card monty" choices) and how you handle the challenges is what will determine your success.

It's a great, relaxing, fun game. Best game I"ve bought in a while.

Not so much a game; more of a 3D movie. If there were any point at which a choice could be made, I couldn't tell. It took me 2 hours to complete the game and get all but 2 achievements. Not sure if I'll bother trying the others. Damn that woman moves slowly.

If you play The Secret World, this is a little interesting for flavor. Whether it's $13 interesting is another question. Having already been through the park, it was strange to see things out of place. There were 2 good scares, and a couple cool creepy moments, but I've been far more scared by some storylines in TSW.

+1, however, for including the "Press X to Jason" mechanic.
