TL;DR Rock Paper Scissors plus gambling, and you're VS the guy with the Golden Scissors that cuts ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rocks up too.

I cannot believe you guys managed to somehow make a worse collection system than Magic the Gathering: Arena.
It's seriously AWFUL. Level up cards for a chance to get cards, except most of the time INSTEAD you'll get a pittance of whatever useless flavors of in game currency they feel like that day.

Pathetic game. Only download if you enjoy being farmed and smugly emoted at by players with cards that your plebeian deck isn't getting unless you partake in the mandatory 24 month daily check in regimen. Oh and buy EVERY SINGLE battle pass as well, you don't want people seeing you with pleb card cosmetics or avatars right?!

TL;DR- You have to pay in, for the privilege of fighting 1500+ hour players in their home turf. AVOID for SOLO.

If you've got a friend or squad asking you to pick up this game, ignore the 👎 in this review and understand that these pain points are severe enough during solo play for this condition.

This is a stylish, well-made game that can be quite a thrill ride, especially in team modes.

When first playing the game, I was hoping for something more lighthearted that matches the game's theme and tone. The game as it stands today consists of highly competitive winner-take-all rounds and headshot-focused gunplay, as well as a Hero/Operator paradigm that does nothing but create balancing headaches.

I'm all for improving my gameplay and hardening up, but there's a combination at play with no death recap, matchmaking issues, and at times tone-deaf balancing that can leave me scratching my head after a round, unsure what exactly the lesson to be learned is.

These issues are more prevalent when playing alone, relying on a spectate camera that doesn't even allow first-person, tells you nothing about the loadout of the person you're spectating, hell, if you don't see them drop cover you know even know who they're playing as!

The game is still under active development, so things are subject to change. Some certainly will enjoy the hard-as-nails combination that these factors provide.

Unfortunately, as it currently stands it's not something I can recommend as a solo experience.

Unbelievably bad optimization. Constant Hitching. I cannot believe people paid money for this.

Early Access Review
PrUn is a game, yes, but really it is a window into a simulation. A simulation so detailed that things like the orbits of bodies affect travel distance regularly, and has not one but many currencies that can be traded in FX.

This window into the sim, APEX, can be as wide or as narrow as you choose. Spending time with the handbook, doing research, and importantly taking my time have all been key to expanding my view.

I've never played something quite like it before, and I look forward to future updates with interest.

They have finally broken the seal, and as of Mar 2022, they are now selling ships that materialize from nowhere for real cash.

So much for that player-run economy that is supposedly the point of your game.

EDIT: CCP Deigned to reply on Mar 18, removing the pack from sale but explaining that ships in packs is a matter of "when" rather than "if". The sole source of hope in the post is the idea of sourcing ships from the community "somehow". Players will see this as attempting to cut PLEX out of the equation with the packs and get incensed...

Personally I believe it could be a monetization middle-ground, make a voucher that is good for a market transaction for the correct ship or something.

Just avoid side stepping the player economy, please.

One of the very best, deserving of the praise heaped upon it.

If you single-handedly spawn a genre that endlessly copycats you, you've made something special.

I really enjoyed playing this game with friends, but after they left due to questionable balance decisions, I was left with solo ranked 2v2, which as of this season they have removed. It's sad when a game in one's "Favorites" section of Steam comes time for an uninstall.

No good thing lasts forever, I guess.
