Cheeki breeki v damke

TLDR: A Promising early access but clearly unfinished with performance issues, Denuvo, thin rosters, weird design choices (e.g. new Kislev and Chaos Realms) and a lot of shoddy cost cutting (what have they done to Greasus?). Plenty of small improvements over its predecessor but also retains many of its flaws and bugs. New campaign and tower defence sieges do simply suck. Can be great with patches, expansions and Immortal Empires.. but right now a wasted potential.

Longer rant:

- Irksome arcade mechanics in sieges: You can can constantly build deadly towers even "during" a battle. Your little dogs can still destroy runic gates made out of metal with their teeth, yet these shoddy towers are somehow untouchable if you don't have a siege attacker. Moreover ass ladders still exist and even ethereals pull them out of their ghostly butts, still little reason to hold walls, karaks are just shoddy settlements in caves, no spiders climbing walls etc. Most maps are improved even if they are just more templates rather than loreful depictions, but rest of the "siege rework" is hardly.. a success. Even the gate bug is still there.

- Bad optimization: Low FPS despite exceeding the recommended specs at 1080p. Getting 25 FPS more in WH2 battles with the same settings. It's even worse in the campaign map. Plus the useless Denuvo probably hogging some performance, again.

- Overly long loading times with SSD. Up to a minute in and out of every battle.

- For the 3rd time there's no double moons which is almost the trademark of WH. No burning woods either.

- The new Kislev: It has ice and bears popping out of everywhere, even the witches ride bears... ok we get it. Bears and ice. On top of it, overly bulky human soldiers that resemble chaos warriors which they are not. Wouldn't be out of place in AoS, probably. And the witches that literally ride ice when not mounted - did i say ice?

- 8 different races with different mechanics, but they all share the same goal in the campaign anyway. Plus you are kinda forced to deal with the rifts.

- Thin monogod rosters - with several recoloured units - to be filled with DLCs later. They even made spammable versions of the greater daemons.

- Character customization is unique to the new LL turned Daemon Prince, as if people haven't been asking for this very same feature for all the generic lords. Maybe not to that degree, but still just like in TT.

- Blood is a seperate DLC to come later, yet you can literally take a bath in blood fountains and lakes in the realm of chaos right now. That said, going to realm of chaos is still not a good idea, not to mention casually building towers and stuff there.

- Ranged meta still strong, with nonsense stuff like crossbows arcing their shots from any angle and range, or no missile units requiring LoS even when firing at units behind walls with sick accuracy. Satellite guided missiles? On top of it, infantry shields are still weak with block values ranging around petty 30%-55%. E.g. Ironbreakers have just %35 block value from the front.

- The thickest ogre in the game aka Greasus has a shoddy wheelcart for a mount that is pulled by just 2 scrawny gnoblars. Pre-order bullet?

- Armies quickly turn into doomstacks of high tier units in campaign as always, with little strategy remaining in battles. There aren't any sort of caps and balancing is as whacky as before.

- The Wall of China is there on the campaign map which you can casually bypass with a single auto-resolve. Also in battles it's just a background and you have another generic little wall in front of it which serves as the actual siege wall...

- The new domination mode is not great with a lot of arbitrary rules and it's forced on ranked play. Also there is no in-game chat, seriously.

- Random crashes and bugs which weren't a case for me in WH2. Even the clicking in main menu was buggy at the beginning that i had to restart it.

- Inconsistent reload animations: Some units don't reload at all and just wait until they shoot again.

- There is still no mod workshop (yet).

Connection requirement to servers even for single player and their servers don't even work sometimes. Way to butcher a good game.
