I recommend Don't Starve as it is one of the best survival games of all time. At first it seems like any other survival game: you pick up a ton of resources like grass, twigs, rocks, and gold to build a base in order to survive through the seasons and monster attacks. But it is actually much darker than you think, you are essentially stuck in a world called the constant forever and ever there is no escape. As you survive and explore you find a mysterious looking door and enter through it, taking you to the adventure mode. You survive and progress through 5 different worlds each with various different challenges and reach the throne room if successful. You then attempt to free Maxwell as you learn that he is not really the villain but merely another victim of this cruel cruel world controlled by the shadows. Maxwell turns into a skeleton and disintegrates almost instantaneously and you realized you're f'd as you become the one stuck on the throne for all of eternity. Now at first glance you'd think "oh the throne must grant you power or something", wrong it is essentially the most painful torture device ever and will keep you there listening to the same tune for all of eternity and somehow keep you alive. You start to then realize that Maxwell must've been sitting on that throne for at least 1000s of years explaining why he crumbled to dust the moment he was released from the throne. Ok now what you return to the sandbox constant and unlock Maxwell, but still cannot find any way to escape the constant and get back to your home. RIP GG
