This feels like a spiritual successor to Defense Grid which is awesome since I spent >100 hours in those games. The voice overs are light hearted and fun just like DG too.

I do feel that the tower progression is too slow though - trying to slog through the first few levels to unlock more towers so I can have more fun. Not sure about this six-axis 3D map stuff either...

Not as good as Monster Train, and not the type of game you can play endless hours of, but very satisfying for a casual blast every now and then. Being turn-based it's quite chill as well, and things only go badly if you play badly since there's basically zero RNG involved. Recommended

I was really enjoying this game at first, but after a while I realised all combats are exactly the same, and just kind of tedious. Your troops start out scattered around an area, you rearrange them before the fight starts to put your tanks at the front and your less tanky characters behind, then you decide which character needs to attack first. Same thing, every, single, fight. There's no dynamism or excitement - just a slog to kill them before they kill you. The survival mechanics are interesting but again just follow a set recipe that you repeat over and over.

I want to like this game. I want to keep playing it. But I also can't bear to. Just too repetitive and formulaic

The best tower defense game. Nothing better than waking up early on a Saturday morning and surreptitiously destroying your friend's 'unassailable' high score then carrying on with your day like nothing happened. A++

Amazing game. Super chill, super fun, relatively-high skill cap once you apply difficulty modifiers. Has so much potential!

Really hope the developer ships a scenario editor for endless community replayability. Co-op would be great as well!

On the verge of losing a critical mission. My last boy standing Crassus, holding his Daemonhammer, has 3AP and there's 3 enemies left. He only has a 10% chance to crit but needs to crit every one of them for us to survive.

Strike 1: Crit! Enemy dies.
Strike 2: Crit! Enemy dies. His crit talent triggers and he gets another AP.
Strike 3: No crit.
Bonus strike: No crit. Enemy dies.

Memorable and storytellable moments like this are what makes this game great. Recommended

It's fun - just think that it's currently too difficult to get the synergies you want which is definitely going to hurt replayability after a while.
