Good
- Lots of interesting weapons.
- Good enemy variety.
- Good pixel art graphics in 3D. More like Heretic or Hexen than DOOM.
- Correct feeling length.
- You feel powerful.
- Good DLC.

Neutral or Minor Issues
- There are almost too many weapons once you have the DLC. Six of your total weapons feel like a weaker and a stronger version pair though they do have some actual differences, just nothing huge.
- Maybe some power-ups should have been permanent upgrades.
- "Contempt" should have just been called "Armor".

Bad
- A tiny bit more story would have been nice.

Crysis 2

Crysis 2 is not that bad, but I don't recommend it. It's definitely a bad sequel to the first Crysis.
Good:

One or two story elements are refreshingly realistic.
Walker enemies look and act cool.
Heavies are sufficiently dangerous to make you change tactics.
Seeing the landscape transform due to destruction is interesting.
The last third of the game is much better than the first two-thirds.
I like Prophet.
I love micro-missiles, so I liked the Swarmer gun.

Neutral:

The simplification of Nanosuit powers has upsides and downsides.
It doesn't bother me that the Ceph have walking exoskeletons. Realistically, it's expensive to hover when you can just walk.

Bad:

There are few chances to use Nanosuit powers beyond armor and cloak.
Speed is just sprinting!
Simplified physics.
The first two-thirds of the game are not engaging.
The game has an overall generic feel.
The story continues from the first Crysis, but few elements are interesting.
The interesting weapons are too rare, and it's too hard to find ammo for them.
The landscape becomes more varied physically but lacks variety in visuals.
I miss Nomad. He didn't talk much in Crysis, but I'm not sure if this main character (Alcatraz) ever spoke.
Your scientist buddy feels like he was supposed to be a "wacky scientist" or "slacker genius" but isn't developed enough and feels boring overall. He is almost likable.
The human antagonist is unlikable while also being underused.
You collect currency from dead Ceph that can be used to purchase suit upgrades, but most of them are not very useful for how much currency they cost.
Too many combat situations can be walked through without even using stealth.

The Worst:

The scale of the game was reduced to accommodate the PS3/360, but Crysis 2 often ran at sub-30 FPS on consoles, making the whole idea seem pointless.

Doom Eternal is one of two games that I wanted to replay immediately after finishing it. I thought Doom 2016 was good but I didn't love it. Doom Eternal captures the "idea in my head" of the original Dooms better than 2016 and overall I just had more fun with it. They should give you more BFG ammo though and I think the story was pretty hard to follow sometimes.

Regarding The Ancient Gods expansions, they are too difficult. I had to turn the difficulty down in the first level because I was getting overwhelmed and this became a problem again later on. Some of the demons are too fast and in your face and in groups too. Some of the new enemies can only be hurt in specific ways which feels really unnatural. Once I had to think "Which gun secondary fire am I supposed to use here again?". They're also mostly palette swaps too. This general issue doesn't ruin the expansions but they could have been better without these issues.

Doom Eternal 5/5
The Ancient Gods 4/5 (It should be a 3/5 but the base game play is so good. The additions and difficulty hurt the game but it's still good.)

The stutter was so bad when walking that I had to return it. Like it was skipping or missing a frame every so often. I tried limiting the frame rate to 57 or 58 FPS and I tried it at various refresh rates on a 144hz monitor but nothing would fix the stutter. VSYNC didn't do anything either. Setting the max frame rate to 57fps made it semi bearable but not worth looking at so much stutter in the long run.

I hated it at first but quickly grew to love it after learning how to use it correctly. I would love to see a new version of it some day.

Remember those educational games you played as a kid on your first PC where you had fun just learning and messing around? It's like that.

If you love Egyptian history, especially time period before what you would normally hear/read about, this game is for you. It doesn't hurt if you like to manage production too since it's mostly about that. It's short but it's highly unlikely that you're going to win the first time around so you want to replay it over and over to keep trying. There are hard fail states in the game that I don't like but if you can prepare for them adequately, you can get past them. I don't like some minor things about this game but it's so rare to have a game set in this time period, in fact I think it might be the only one, that it's worth the cheap price to try it out and learn something.
