i'm nowhere near competent enough to compress my lengthy thoughts about this game down into a review, but in short summary, it's really good, incredibly expansive and lots of fun. i can see this game being remembered for years to come; it's very innovative in a lot of ways in the puzzle genre
ps. RNG haters DNI there's literally so many ways you can control it to be entirely in your favor if you think your moves through

it's everything the base game did right, but greatly refined. new regions, new creatures, new mysteries to solve, new mechanics, all presented in the best possible way. it made me remember how i felt playing the game for the first time again

insane dlc taking so much of what made the base game so exciting to play for the first time and bringing it to a next level

Really interesting mechanics and incredibly fun strategy potential that's unfortunately entirely thrown out of the window by relying far too much on RNG.

This game expects a lot of thinking effort from you for a game where you can be given several traps that do nothing, towers that don't contribute towards your refactors and tile patterns that do not at all work in your favor; you end up not being able to do anything about it besides throw the run and restart. None of this is at all helped by the pretty badly explained mechanics (possibly a language barrier issue) which often feel superficial and extreme difficulty ramping that feels pretty unfair even if the game decides to play in your favor.

If you took out the RNG - replaced pre-determined unknown traps with a choice between traps, replaced the tower shop where you have to commit to buying an unknown tower with a rotating list of them you can always see, made every type of tower available to purchase at any point and balanced the perks such that a run didn't depend on getting good ones - then it would be a really fun game, which is what makes it all the more frustrating in its current state

really awesome rhythm game with cool mechanics, good song set and full custom support. reviews are being really mean

possibly one of the coolest and most underrated games in the sandbox survival genre. it's like if you took all the best design conventions of modded minecraft, turned the visual and sound design up to 11, came up with a bunch more fun gimmicks, refined it until perfection, and put it all into space for good measure
