DMC1: The story is not actually as good as DMC3 and it doesn't even have much cut scenes anyways. But it's a solid action adventure game. Exploring the castle was interesting as it had horror-like environment.

DMC2: It can be safely skipped. It's not even worth trying. The level designs are bland and I can just clear every level by just spamming guns; which is not fun at all. Also, the enemy AI is very bad.

DMC3: Devil May Cry 3 is one of the most difficult games I have ever played but enjoyed. I can't do much combos, died hundreds of times and finished the game mostly playing with the same weapons and style but still I loved the gameplay, story and the dark environment. I don't know why people are so obsessed with slow souls-like games; hack n slash should be the king of action games. Apart from the annoying camera angles I don't have any complaints regarding this game.

I think 1 can be skipped but it has Resident Evil type of vibe. It's worth checking out even if someone doesn't want to finish it. DMC3,4 are really good. I will soon start playing the DMC reboot. I hope it's good.

Personally, I found 1 and 2 to be skipworthy. 3-5 and even the DMC reboot (somewhat of a hot take) were all great for their own reasons.

DMC3 is the best in the series regardless of being 17 years old . Even the latest DMC5 failed to deliver the epicness that DMC3 offered the gamers
