Early Access Review
Fun as it is now (building settlements is very satisfying) and with a roadmap the developers seem to be sticking to. Updates are consistent, and they do a good job talking about what's coming soon and on the longer term roadmap.

One of the few Early Access games I've tried that is meeting expectations and also clearly using EA as a way to tune gameplay mechanics.

Recommended, with caveats.

Note: I didn't pick this up at launch, so I never experienced the absolute worst of the performance issues.

From a purely gameplay perspective, this is an improvement on vanilla Cities: Skylines. The mechanics are more complex, the tools are superior (in most cases), and it looks and plays well. The game, while currently GPU bound, is no longer CPU bound, the major hurdle for most CS1 players, which leaves me hopeful that adding assets and changing gameplay rules with mods will have lots of room for performance. Mods aren't available yet, though, and as someone who likes to detail cities, it is a point of frustration -- but it's hardly a dealbreaker.

I'm currently looking at this from the perspective of someone who both enjoys the game as it exists and is optimistic for what it could become down the road.

If you're looking for a game that is the equivalent of CS1 after 8 years of development, DLCs, and mods, wait for a sale later. Otherwise, it looks and plays so much better than CS1 that it is worth picking up (or trying on Game Pass) if you're interested in a city builder.

Early Access Review
This is a fun space shooter, with a solid, tough campaign. I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes from here. It feels pretty polished already, particularly as EA titles go.

It's like single player, turn based, adventure-game Homeworld. It's awesome.

Quite fun and good short sessions. Also quite challenging, and just as weird and funny as Flotilla. The strategic part of it (outside of the missions) is a cleverly executed puzzle on its own.
