Great game with AAA graphics, voice overs, sounds and music and indie style gameplay that always changes before it gets boring. Perfectly executed. Definitely one of my favorite games of last 10 years.

Early Access Review
Abandoned unfinished game. Even though dev knew they are abandoning it long time ago (their discord message saying it was leaked) they never announced it. Don't waste your money.

It's an alright game I guess :)

But for real - I'll try to keep it short:
Do you like building with LEGO, sci-fi and doing whatever you want with your own made up goals?
- how do you not have this game yet?!

Do you like linear sci-fi stories / scenarios in game about building vehicles and buildings / stations?
- there are mostly linear scenarios for you to play with fixed goals

Do you like open-world survival building games with tech trees and interesting progression but don't find game without goals interesting enough?
- so far there is no survival with progression except for finding resources (its not similar to minecraft)

Do you like to spend days to find interesting mods so you can spend few hours playing with them?
- you can look for mods your whole life and even kids of your kids won't finish the list

Devs also release free updates and mostly cosmetic DLCs (some with additional scenarios) from time to time even after 10 years.

If you buy it - Enjoy.
If you don't buy it - Enjoy whatever you bought instead :)

Cool sci-fi puzzle game. Not too hard, but enjoyable.

Essential tool for DF - adds a lot of QoL improvements, game is much more pleasurable and less tedious to play with it.

DFHack was a must-have for many years and now we have it on Steam - just click and play.

I would give neutral vote if possible.
It's weak compared to amazing main game mostly because you are just staying in the same room all the time.
The episode is mostly just about talking to computer / other screens. Interesting story, but don't expect anything like the main game.

I love the TV Series and I loved this! I couldn't stop playing, wish it would never end.

Great successor with lots of improvements! I love it so far.
Writing this review now to balance the review bombing from people that like to be triggered.

20k pop city runs at 50-60 fps on 1920x1080 high settings on 4090 with disabled Motion Blur and Depth of Field (both of which I didn't like even in CS1).

Don't mind the review bombing if you are ok with running on lower graphics settings. Devs announced up front that the performance will not be what they would like on release and they have optimization as highest priority so you can also wait until they patch it - it's well worth it. The game is amazing.

EDIT: 27 additional hours - I still think this is an amazing game :)

Christmas came early this year!

Seriously - this game is the mother of games like Rimworld and its much deeper than any other game of its kind. What can happen in Rimworld is light version of what can happen in this game. After more than 18 years of development and people playing it for free its now finally on Steam better than ever.

After playing the original Dwarf Fortress for years for hundreds and hundreds of hours I can safely say: It's well worth the money.
