Just as if not more beautiful than Gris, with very polished movement and combat that made the world a joy to explore. The difficulty felt about right, though I could see it getting frustrating if you struggle with combat in games like this (thankfully you can play in story mode and ignore this entirely if you find this a deal breaker.)

Full completion took around 7 hours, though I tend to take my time exploring and taking in the atmosphere so you may be done a little quicker if you aren't as thorough. Though short, I think it's very much worth the asking price and I can't wait to see what Nomada have in store for us next.

What a truly special game. If you are reading this there's a very high chance you have played through the first game of the series, and if you did, I'm sure you don't need a review to know you need to carry on with the second chapter. Everything I loved from FC dialed up to 11. More of the great world building, characters, fun battles and great music creates a full package when taking the first game into account, and what an epic this tale has been.

I did EVERYTHING in this play through. Spoke to every NPC upon every dialogue change, collected every item, got every achievement. My total time was about 144 hours playing on hard mode, so even if you take out the side content you don't really need to do (I highly recommend you do to get the most out of the game), you are probably looking at 70+ hours of pure story.

Please give this a go if you have the chance and this sort of game interests you, even if FC left you wanting a bit more I can ASSURE you this game will blow you away. Onto the third!

Trails in the Sky FC is one of the best JRPG's I've played in recent memory. Whilst I enjoyed many aspects of the game, the characters really stole the show. Some of the most fleshed out, well written characters I've had the pleasure of adventuring with in a video game. The story may be slow at times, but I feel like this only serves to benefit the game in its later sections, as the groundwork laid before it really comes into its own to create an experience I certainly won't be forgetting any time soon. Combat is a typical turn based affair, but the addition of various features, such as the rolling "turns" mechanic make it feel fresh and interesting, despite the amount of turn based games I have played. I played through the game on hard, which was a good challenge at times, though I may try nightmare in the future.

I would highly, HIGHLY recommend this game to you if you are interested in it. It completely surpassed my expectations and I am incredibly excited to get started on SC in the near future.

It's been over 25 years since Half Life was released. It didn't feel like that whilst playing it. Some consider it the genesis of the story driven FPS genre and whilst its successor Half Life 2 is a better game in many ways, the journey through Black Mesa is one of the most memorable and enjoyable experiences I've had in gaming. There is something about venturing through the research facility that no other game has been able to capture for me. A timeless classic well worth picking up if you haven't tried it, especially with the sort of prices you can get it for in sales, it's basically free! Whilst you are at it, you may as well play Half Life 2 and it's two extra episodes, as they build upon the foundations laid by the original in brilliant fashion.

Berseria is a good tales game. Not as good as Vesperia or Abyss in my opinion, but the story is worth sticking with it for. Dungeons and overworld are not the most engaging areas to explore, with "puzzles" being about as simple as they can get. Combat also suffers from some issues that prevent it from being up there with the greats. Still certainly worth a playthrough. My final save clocked in at around 80 hours playtime doing all quests, watching all skits etc (I didn't touch the post game though, so you can definitely get more mileage if you want it.)

Early Access Review
As of this review, the game has been out for about a day. In 12 hours I feel I've seen a decent portion of the mechanics and can state some initial thoughts to anyone thinking of getting it. It is seemingly early early access. Some of the problems I have with the game are almost inexcusable. Performance is pretty poor. Combat doesn't feel as tight as the original, though this one seems to have the difficulty raised a tad. I'm also playing it through rose tinted glasses, I need time to get used to the new systems after all my time in the original game.

I like the new building system for the most part. Finicky at times but overall works reasonably well. Does feel a bit lacking compared to what could be built in 1, but again not a deal breaker.

My absolute biggest problem with this sequel is the map. They made it much bigger... but its basically empty. There isn't much fun to be had exploring, its more go from cave to cave maybe build a base if you feel like it but you don't need to. Then there's the caves. Downright worse than the first game in most ways. I feel like the time spent making a huge open world should have been spent making a smaller, more alive map with some extra time put into the caves.

Can't speak on the story too much yet, as I haven't completed it, but there is a noticeable lack of lore that I've found compared to the first game.

Overall, if you liked the first you will love parts and hate parts right now, but its in early access. The first game came out in a similar state and after many updates was massively improved. All I can hope is that the sequel gets the same treatment. I'd say if you aren't sure, give it half a year. Come back and see how it looks once endnight have had some time to work on community feedback.

I would still recommend it, especially if you have friends to play it with. The buggy mess of a forest game at launch is truly a joy to play with a group of friends and is well worth the experience now if you didn't get it with the first game. Bonus is the game can only really get better from here.

Brilliant from start to finish. Play blind for the best experience. Mechanics are brilliant and engaging and so is the story. Not much more needs to be said. Try it out.
