A vast but also somewhat simple world. I say somewhat in that the "hazard" creatures are more or less the same planet to planet. That said, it turns out this is a bangin' cooking simulator... Honestly like 30% of all the credits I make comes from making donuts.

Really though, it has breadth to keep you entertained and a story that is as touching as you want it to be. There is some luck in the process but with the recent updates it's much easier to get further in the game than should be possible, pretty quickly.... which was a big selling point to me in that I could spend 30 hours making an awesome house and a few here and there exploring in my own time.

It's a complex as you make it. You can start out with a small basic grid and work up to making full-scale realistic cities that function correctly. As an american I overuse grids but some of the European folks you may see online make very different cities and.... ya know... also know how to correctly use train stations lol.

The base game, which I have, is amazing. There is a lot with Horizons but I'll wait on that. The scenery is incredible. When I purchased it I knew sorta what it was from photos but it's so much more than that. I actually choked when I stumbled upon my first Neutron Star. It is as relaxing or as hardcore as you want to be. The purchase of ships is easy and once you do a bit of exploring or mining or combat you can buy exactly what you need and it's not insane. It has a huge learning curve but with the help of Reddit, it's not bad. Many many resources out there.

And above all... not only is it an incredibly beautiful game but it runs like an absolute CHAMP on middle and low-end hardware. Running with an older basic gpu (940MX) and it's getting me plenty of frames and plenty of action. I didn't expect it at all.

Liked that it didn't hold your hand as much and that when you put science items or bay doors or something on you have to either action it or click it to start/open and I feel like that is just neat. I've watched tens of hours of videos before purchase and I gotta say.... so so so much more complex than I thought a game with little green men (and women) would be. I'd purchased Simple Rockets and Simple Planes before this and that had limited parts and limited workshop content... this is.... so much easier to build and I feel like you always get something good.

A very fun and intersting game. It has a few odd bits in the story like... how you're the only one who can use the powers. The art is fantastic and the world is brilliant.
