Early Access Review
The ideas are there, but the game still needs more improvements, especially with how the staffs work. Currently I feel like it is almost impossible to play on higher difficulty settings because the staffs would just make me crawl my freaking eyes out from their ridiculously demanding thoughts. Also some quality of life changes would be nice, too, and some better guidelines to the recipe system would do good. I would suggest adding roles to make placing staffs less headache-y (i.e cooks, servers, managers, etc.). I've seen how active and receptive the devs are with the reviews on steam and on the discord server, so I feel really hopeful for this game and do believe it would turn out good. Keep up the good work, looking forward to the release!

I neither recommend nor not recommend this game, but Steam does not have a neutral button so I'm just recommending it because the devs absolutely deserve more support.

Basically a metroidvania style pokemon-ish kinda game. Pretty decent game, with some (annoying) flaws.

So many gameplay and level design choices in this game are questionable. Some areas cannot be accessed until later on when you get the gears/monsters that enable you to do so has this throwback to older games. But by choosing to do this, the pacing of the game feels like being kicked in the nuts, and the annoying level design in the early stages do not help. There are some really clever and good levels but the overall map feels a bit convoluted, and running around being 60-70% the game, it can get really annoying sometimes, especially once you get to the Beach.

The story is okay, the characters are so cliche and stupid they become funny in an ironic way. Of course the writing can be improved but I didn't expect groundbreaking or thought-provoking writing anyways so it's all good.

And my biggest gripe with this game, the biggest reason why I cannot recommend this game, even though I enjoyed the most of it, it's the balance of the game and the sudden difficulty spike. By having a pretty intricate combat system and diverse roster of monsters, you would expect the combat in this game to be flexible. It is true at times, when it works, it is really fun. But the later you get into the game, the fights are just so drawn out they become tedious and tiring. And the fact that the debuffs in this game last forever, instead of lasting for a couple of turns, which is pretty donkey-ass in my opinion, is one of the main reasons why the fights are so drawn out. It is obvious that there are options to counter debuffs, but they are so limited and not enough, making debuffs just straight up annoying and anti-fun. And then there are the boss fights. Look, I can get behind a difficult game that throws ♥♥♥♥ my way to challenge me throughout the game, actually I would love that, but why in the ♥♥♥♥, would you decide that 98% of the game be a 4 or a 5, then suddenly jumps up to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 10 in the remaining 2%? Like seriously, why? I wouldn't say most of the game is a walk in the park, it's more like a walk in a mine field, where it requires some understanding and attention, but nothing too crazy. But then, the last battles are nothing like the rest of the game, and suddenly, you would find yourself absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥, scratching your head, asking "what the ♥♥♥♥ is going on", googling strategies, finding new monsters, grinding out gears/levels for said monsters, and retaking the fights again and again, until you manage to do it. If the devs think this is supposed to make the boss fights feel more epic and memorable then yeah, they are right, the fights are memorable, but in a very bad way. I will live on for the rest of my life remembering and hating the name Zosimos.

All in all, I believe that the balancing and the bosses issues can be fixed, and the game is still pretty good if you just care about collecting monsters, chests, running around exploring and messing around. But if you look for anything that is profound, then maybe this game isn't it.

Seriously, ♥♥♥♥ Zosimos.
