Gameplay:
I was playing on expert, and had a very satisfying experience overall. The game is really not hard, even on expert. I did not use potions *at all*, and was able to beat most encounters including boss fights first try. But i did not get bored, the only real grinding i did was at the end to get the level 50 achievement, would not have been necessary. The fights are somewhat repetitive, but that's part of the genre i'd say. There were some really good ideas in the boss fights, especially a multi headed summoning and devouring demon comes to my mind.
Even has some replay values because of class and skill decisions.

Here is a great summary of some important game mechanics:

World building and story:
What can i say. Kind of fresh combination of elves, vampires and floating lands - and very well done. The "wtf" moments were very very rare, which is basically my measurement for a good experience. Characters and world feel like a natural environment, people having their lives, not only built for the protagonist. Of course the world is simplified, but with enough "random people" to represent a functioning world.
Different surroundings (Grass, Snow, Lava, Desert) offer variation, are explained and fit into the world.
Character progressions, motivations and backstories were also good, can't even think of everything that is working well in the game. :)

Graphics:
Well made for its genre. Lovely details here and there, nothing fancy i would say.

Audio:
Not that important for me, but still: Everything fine with that, supports the overall experience, not intrusive.
A small detail i enjoyed a lot: In the epilogue, there is a man driving nails into a wall - and the sound fits the animation. There are probably a lot of such details i simply did not notice, but make the world feel natural.

All in all, if you are slightly interested in 2D RPGs, i fully recommend this game.
