I Recommend Ara Fell Enhanced Edition

Ara Fell is a simple JRPG where Lita LeCotta and her companions must preserve their way of life in the face of a returning threat.

The game takes place in a floating island far up in the sky called Ara Fell, there's turn-based combat with four party members, each member may obtain and improve different advanced classes that together with interesting battles keeps players' strategies fresh even though a few areas have unnecessarily recurring and boring battles. The overall narrative may fall short or repeat itself, but has some good serious moments and thankfully it doesn't take itself too seriously, it's relatable characters and their development that carries the story, they manage to dodge many tropes of the genre and have mostly tasteful and witty banter, the characters made me invested and left a lasting impression.

The music does its job but only a few tracks stand out, the exploration and its rewards though, that's where Ara Fell shone to me, swimming and hand fishing, jumping gaps that lead to the world below, scurrying through cracks and collecting shining ore, running by the trees with a great wind at your back, finding hidden paths to forgotten relics, rediscovering places lost to time and meaning, all high up in the sky and enhanced by the beautiful pixel art, animation and sound design that keep me moving forward and sharing in Lita's desire to explore Ara Fell’s vibrant world.

A beautiful game that was incredibly enjoyable to play. The combat is fairly basic, and options for characters are not complex or require much choice, but it is meaningful enough to keep you interested and happy as you progress through the game. Great story, interesting characters, and an overall fun and positive experience :)

It's good, better than expected.
