I beat him within an inch of his life, easily -- he continued to talk smack, as he limped away.

I followed him out of town, murdered him, buried his body, sold his cheap sword back to his master, and went on about my day.

11/10 game.

Picked this up during early, early access -- several years ago. Didn't even beat the first boss. Thought it was cute, but didn't enjoy it.

Coming back to the full release several years later (and with FRIENDS, highly recommend that), it has been an absolute blast. My friends and I have had so much fun smacking our way through rocks and enemies alike. It takes a little bit to get off the ground, but, once you discover a few teleportation tiles, and have set up a few mining cart circuits, the game really starts to pick up. If you beat the first few bosses, you will probably be locked in for the rest of the game, as well.

A unique roguelite with beautiful level designs. Combat is smooth and flows well, and there is a fairly healthy level of weapons and spells, along with "classes," to customize how you mix and match things towards your play style.

If you're going to play it, play it with mods. There are so many mods that make the game so much more immersive and enjoyable.

That being said, many of the mods rely on some, if not all, DLC to be installed. Buy the season pass, but only buy it on sale. For some reason, Bethesda jacked the price of the season pass up to a whopping $50. I got it on sale for $20 -- some people have found even better deals.

TL;DR Buy season pass on sale - install a bunch of great mods - enjoy the game much more.

Absolutely beautiful game. A wonderful story, paired with aesthetically pleasing artwork and soothing music. It all comes together to make such a charming and emotional experience.

A quaint, quirky game with a lot of charm to it. Gorgeous artwork that will give you nostalgia for those games from back in the day. A peaceful, relaxing experience, overall.
