This is a good game!

"Just one quick mission before I go" ends up with you being awake until 3am without even noticing.

I appreciate the video in the Store page - it really explains what the game is about. Watch it and if it looks even remotely fun to you, get the game!

It's fun and as creative as you allow your mind to be. Good difficulty progression, really well thought-out balance as well - I have as much fun playing easy missions with a brand new hero as I do playing super challenging missions with a well-equipped badass.

Like Hotline Miami, except less stressful. Also, you get to shoot people into space.

Beautiful, stylish, simple, engaging.

The art style alone is a great reason to get this game - worlds reminiscent of Dali's paintings, Escher-style architecture, psychedelic sound design... the atmosphere is great. I especially like the eerily voiced narrator.

The puzzles are satisfying and start off simple.
I'm pretty sure that people of all ages can enjoy this game.

Big congratulations to the devs for releasing such a nicely polished title, AND FOR FREE! (20/09/2017 Steam deal)

This is actually a really fun co-op game!

Top-down view, simple controls, satisfying gunplay.

You have different classes to choose from (each with their own skills and progression) and you mainly just shoot things or weld doors shut in order to keep the aliens out as you navigate your way through simple levels, which are strung together to a kind of campaign.

It's not an easy game, you will have to work together at least a little bit to get through. The pacing is good - from frantic running through corridors to sweaty 'horde'-style defense or crucial objectives...

It's FREE, and it's FUN.

A great idea with so much style! That's about all it has to offer, however.

It's a DICE game, so expect a super trendy visual style. These are the same guys that made stuff like "bluish hue soldier with an orange highlight walking towards the camera", boy that was a good game! So stylish. Well, this game is different - it's mostly white with simplistic geometry and stylised textures - so sleek, so minimalist.

It's also an EA game, so don't be surprised if you find that all your nostalgic and stylistic appreciation for this title is nullified within the first 30 minutes due to technical issues. Whatever the initial idea for this game was, it came out through the EA development and marketing cycle a vapid broken mess

Mirror's Edge as a concept sounds amazing - parkour, some light combat, focus on movement and momentum over painstaking looting and exploration. And this is why so many people like it. Not for what it is, but for what it conceptually represents. It's cool to like a seemingly small game that's pretty much an anti-game when compared to the other titles from the same studios... However, Mirror's Edge is not that game.

You remember it for being cool, smooth and innovative. Well, keep it that way and don't spend any money on this game today if you're hoping to relive the joy, because you're likely to get burned just like I have.

It still runs poorly. I played it when it came out and it was laggy. Played it again a few years later and it kept crashing. Even today, with a PC far beyond the dreams and imaginations of its developers at the time, the game crashes after the tutorial! And not just a humble error and retry, no - the whole screen goes white and you have zero options other than restarting your PC (by flipping the switch, the game won't let you switch tasks). Unacceptable, especially for a game this simple. So that's 3/3 times when the game behaved poorly or straight up didn't work - three different systems, three different attempts spanning almost a decade.

The controls are still awful. Stuff like extremely sensitive mouse (lowest possible sensitivity and still the slightest nudge turns me 180 degrees) is just lazy QA. Stuff like jumping/timing mechanics not being explained, that's just lazy design. You'll have to watch the training NPC demonstrate the jump to you over and over (in an unskippable sequence) just so you can give it one more try and fail and be forced to watch the NPC do the moves again (from your own perspective no less, so you have no idea what they're actually doing when they're jumping). This applies to all missions too, so it's a "make it or load" grind with all the promised fluidity sucked right out of it.

This game should cost $5 at most. It should run damn near flawlessly. It doesn't and it doesn't. If you get it for free, go for it and see if it crashes - you might be able to enjoy it for a moment, but I think you will more than likely leave it to rot in your library after 30 minutes of playing.

I played this on the free weekend. It's definitely not worth even the 20 bucks for me. Any feel of an actual Role-Playing Game, like the first two Fallouts or Fallout: New Vegas, is completely gone. Most of the time, you will be doing annoying repetitive quests for people you don't care about in a world that is intricately placed together, one quirky skeleton at a time, but ultimately shallow and lifeless.

Story telling and pacing is awful. This game is not more than a shooter with a clumsy inventory and a quick "Fallout" veneer slapped over the generic Bethesda product, to kinda hide the fact that it's basically Skyrim. It also has scavenging and general Minecraft-style mechanics, to get the kids going. You get everything in the beginning - the home base, the dog, the robot, the Power Armor, the source of infinite ("radiant") quests for XP... all you have to do is get out there and find more junk to scrap. The main character, for all the amazing options you have while sculpting his/her face, is an emotionless brick, but that's okay, because so are all the NPCs and your dialogue "options" all yield the same result anyway.

What I found amusing is that even after all this time, the game regularly crashes while loading and load times themselves are excruciatingly slow. Some keys will randomly stop working and only restart will fix it. The engine, short of looking inherently ugly, has some major flaws, from poor lighting to broken physics and beyond-dumb AI. So even the technical side is ♥♥♥♥, not just the writing.

The Fallout universe is an amazing premise for a captivating story and a true role-playing experience. Get yourself Fallout 1 (with the Fallout Fixt patch) and Fallout 2 (with the F2 Restoration Project patch) and then come back and tell me how Bethesda is doing this franchise any justice.

Don't get fooled by this game's age or the fact that it is in the StarWars franchise - on the inside, it is an absolutely amazing old-school BioWare RPG with all the right elements that make a true ROLE-PLAYING game (not just a shooter with stats or a movie with fake choices). Some gameplay mechanics are even far ahead of modern RPGs.

You will be taken on a journey of choices as you watch your character and those around him/her grow and evolve according to your actions. It's true. The Force. The Jedi... All of it... Without spoiling anything, let me just say that this game's story contains one of the greatest plot twists ever. The writing in general really is great - even if you're not a huge fan of StarWars, you will definitely enjoy this game. In fact, some of the quests, dialogues and lore in this game actually made me appreciate the StarWars universe a lot more.

The NPCs and their interactions are as deep as in, say, Mass Effect. Some quests require a fair bit of thinking and will not always hold your hand. This really is the "old" BioWare feel.

Graphics are pretty oldschool but still very much bearable. The sound design is great and some of the voice acting is superior to most modern titles. So, with a small grain of nostalgia, this game can still feel great, even though it's quite old now.

TECHNICAL NOTE: On top of this version, make sure to find and install "KotOR 1 Restoration 1.2" - a community-made patch that fixes a lot of issues and restores some missing content. Also, you might want to look for a Widescreen mod (although I was fine playing it at less than full HD).

First of all, the developers released a very large demo for you yo download and try. I can confirm that the demo level is indicative of the overall quality and complexity of the game. So please try it!

This game is FUN! It's just like Commandos in the old days, except everything is very nicely put together - there are no glitches and no "pixel hunting", meaning you can focus entirely on strategy rather than wrestling with controls or the game engine. Even "casual" strategy players will enjoy this title, as the difficulty isn't daunting, yet there is still plenty of challenge to be had, even for seasoned veterans of the genre.

GRAPHICS. No clutter, just intricately detailed (and pretty) textures and models. What I really appreciate is the sheer amount of artwork made for this game. Everything looks great - from the main menu to the finest character animations and cut scenes. As rich as the environments are, nothing is confusing or over-the-top.

INTERFACE. Goes hand-in-hand with graphics. Highlights make it very clear what you can do, scripted events and dialogues guide you through the massive levels, tips and tutorials are always just a click away. Vision cones are very similar to other games of the genre, but there are some clever improvements here. The initial loading time for a level is a bit long, but once you see how intricate each level is and how fast the quicksave and quickload times are, you will understand. :)

SOUND. You can seamlessly switch between Japanese and English voice over and they're both done very tastefully. The sounds and noises are varied enough as not to get annoying. I love the way your characters talk to each other, or murmur their own monologues under their breath.

GAMEPLAY. This is the real question. And I must say, Shadow Tactics did a great job. There are no overwhelming levels or strange difficulty fluctuations; game is moderately challenging throughout. Each level feels like a real, several-hours-long mission and I've enjoyed them all - various combinations of characters and environments always make you try new strategies. There is no obvious "cheese" strategy to beat all the levels (like shooting behind a corner in Commandos and killing everyone that comes with your infinite-ammo-pistol) and you will genuinely have to think to beat most levels.

REPLAY? For me, definitely. Hidden achievements (revealed at the end of each level) are a good incentive to repeat levels and they often highlight a path you hadn't previously thought of. Not to mention the huge variability that comes from each character's skills.

If you like games like this, if you're a fan of the genre or anything stealth-like, or if you just wanna support great developers who weren't afraid to release a massive gameplay demo for free in 2016, you should probably buy this.

The soundrack alone is worth it. Emotive blues notes as you cruise through the void...But this game is generally really fun - if you're into space or pirates (or space pirates!), this is the game for you.

This is one of those "small" games I wish everyone would buy, because the developers deserve every last cent for making such an enjoyable space sim (and absolutely nailing it!)... keeping my eye on Double Damage Games from now on!
