Outer Wilds and its DLC are an incredible experience that you can only live through once.
Truly a masterpiece.

However - The DLC is not perfect. Some will find it frustrating at certain parts, in perhaps an unreasonable way.
I encourage anyone feeling this way to persevere - the reward is worth it if you can solve it yourself.

I've played Satisfactory since it released into Early Access on the Epic Store. I played it before jumping into Factorio for the first time. If you're looking for a logistical challenge requiring the application of rudimentary brainpower, Satisfactory isn't it. It's a just series of busywork steps to get to an endgoal.
Fill the bucket full of the special color, receive neuron activation. Repeat ad nauseam.

One could argue Factorio has a similar loop and thus suffers from a similar depth problem - but they'd be wrong. Factorio has the automation tools to allow for creative expression and incredible scale. Limited resource nodes require flexibility and forethought - whereas Satisfactory only requires that you expand just a little bit further to that next node to increase your total throughput.

Satisfactory touts exploration, but realistically, you're done exploring after the first ten or so hours of a playthrough. After that it's just for fun - and it can be an entertaining distraction from base building. I'm just not sure why you'd entertain yourself that way when you could just open up Steam and do literally anything else.

I found myself dragging in the last 10%. To achieve the final bucket in a reasonable amount of time, I'd need to create an incredibly hungry production line. Even so, it only required 6-7 nodes of various pure resources with slug boosters. It wasn't challenging or thought provoking or in any way interesting - I just needed to sit down for four hours, expand my train network east half a click, tap the corresponding nodes, then burn daylight building production lines I'd mostly already created previously, but for different buckets that still needed to be filled. It was mind-numbingly tedious.

Factorio has never wasted my time.
Satisfactory refuses to stop wasting it.

Devs who read this - you made a beautiful game. We appreciate your hard work.
It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ garbage to play.
