Generally a really good game but the poor performance on pretty high end hardware is simply a huge let down and rips you straight out of the experience. I game on a 5900x and 3080Ti with 32GB and get quite a few dips in the seconds per frame territory. All in all a huge let down because of the poor optimization of the game.

Build a base, get raided. Build a second base, get raided again. Rage quit...

Update after many updates and additional 200+ hours:
They did add enough content to make it recommendable but it's still missing a lot of additional content. The additional classes aren't implemented yet and neither are further cruciball levels. Both are desperately needed to add more variety to the gameplay loop.

I loved the demo so I immediately bought it when it went early access.

Good news is, it's even more fun than the demo with additional items, maps and mechanics.
Bad news is, there isn't really all that much there in terms of content.

Three levels and a, more or less, hardcore mode just isn't nearly enough for the asking price, even at the beginning of early access.

So right now I can't recommend the game at all. It's sad but it's the truth.

I can't wait for additional content but it needs to come in fast. The hype train won't be here forever.

It`s very very short and doesn't have a lot of content in it. I've bought it on sale for 1.19€ which is fine but I wouldn't pay more for it.

Good and interesting story but little to no real gameplay.
Basically, if you like action horror movies and want one to be a bit more interactive, this is the game for you.
If you like to play a video game, this is not that.

Funny, great story and great gameplay. These are the last things I would expect from a Marvel game after the Avengers game came out as well after the more than lackluster movies they've produced since Endgame.

I was really skeptical after the E3 trailer as well but I bring good news:
THIS GAME IS AMAZING!!!

The good:
- Great story
- The funniest game I have played in years
- Amazing soundtrack
- Good gameplay
- Pretty long for a single player action adventure
- Even better characters than the movies (funnier and deeper character progression)
- No woke BS!

The bad:
- Bugs (The game has some bugs. Most are minor and don't really screw you over but some require a restart to fix)
- Inconsistent performance (the game runs smoothly 99% of the time but then there are some really weird stutters over entire scenes that aren't nearly as taxing as others that run smoothly)

Wishlist for a sequel:
- A Mass Effect kind of hub to traverse to previously visited locations
- Deeper skill tree
- Small side quests
All of these without sacrificing the amazing pace and story of the game.

Is this game for you?
If you like the Guardians humor and enjoy action adventures it doesn't get much better than this, so yeah, get it while it's hot.

Boring, boring, boooring!

Virginia has to be one of the most boring games I have in my collection.
No dialogue, no gameplay besides walking around and pressing the left mouse button every once a while.
On a real walk through my nearby forest I experience more than in this narrative driven game, though I would hardly call this game or narrative driven. It's mainly W driven.

Just plain, bland and awful. Don't buy this. Even if you like walking simulators, DON'T BUY THIS!

Hard, relentless, depressing and absolutely great with a few caviats.

Frostpunk is a city builder of a different kind.
In Frostpunk's frozen world it is your job to keep your people save from the blistering cold and lack of resources... and of course defectants.
You need to keep your people fed, housed, treated for illness but first and foremost WARM!
With passing laws and working down research tech tree you decide the fate of your people but keep in mind that you need to manage resources, your people's hope and discontent.

Pros:
- Very cool setting
- Actually challening (be prepared to restart at least once because you screwed it all up)
- Amazing atmosphere
- Nice enough visuals
- Two different paths (you can be a fascist or religeous leader)

Cons:
- The main campaign is extremely short (had to restart after 3,5h and finished the main campaign from start to finish in 4,5h.
- The game is buggy. On my first real attempt (the one I royally screwed up) I lost an Automaton due to a bug and I didn't realize until it was too late. On my actual playthrough the same thing happened with a transport party supposed to bring me coal but I realized it quickly enough and was able to salvage the situation.
- The story is not deep at all which is really sad considering the cool setting. To know why the world is frozen you have to buy additional DLC, which is a real bummer.

Overall:
A really fun city builder which is a definite buy if you can get it on sale. Personally I wouldn't pay full price for it since it's campaign is way too short and after 4,5h you'll have researched everything the tech tree has to offer and worked your way through the law tree as well. Sandbox mode doesn't offer much more than the campaign.
I hope they expand the content in the sequal which is already announced.

I recieved the game through the latest Humble Choice Bundle and had bad memories about it from back when it originally came out in 05 and thought I give it another shot but it's actually as bad as I remembered. I would even argue it's gotten worse since because it didn't age very well.
If you like clunky games then go for it, otherwise stay far away.

It would be a fun game if it wasn't so stupidly and unfairly hard. Recommended to masochists but no one else.
