The game is super fun. It is at its core a fishing sim, but the plot written around that fishing sim is excellent.

This game is very interesting. I wouldn't say it is the greatest game I have played, or even in the top 50%. For a good game similar to this, I would point you towards something like Gone Home or Firewatch. But this game definitely has its appeals. For one, exploring the hotel is really cool. The environment is very well done, and has a lot of potential (though it it utterly wasted by the story). Also, it has this kind of odd supernatural element, where it would be really hard to explain the situation without the supernatural, but it isn't hyper present and you never get a concrete explanation on what is happening. I like this vagueness, because it makes the playing more interesting. You are always wondering whether something could even happen, because you don't understand the rules of the supernatural in this story.

As mentioned earlier though, the story is an issue. First, it does not really take up the massive environment it is set in. You get directed through a series of rooms by the story, and any other rooms (if even accessible) have nothing of note in them. A good contrast to this is Gone Home. Like TSORF, many rooms in gone home are not essential for the main narrative. But gone home does two things to remedy this. #1, it doesn't direct you to the important rooms, so you end up exploring most/all of the rooms anyway in order to find the few of narrative significance. #2, even the ones which don't contain major story beats will have random pieces of lore which make the story more interesting, and generally flesh out your picture of what happened. TSORF makes no attempt at either of these.

If you have read any other reviews, you will have heard about how the main character's father is a pedophile, and those reviews will have mentioned that this is slipped under the rug and the narrative fails to condemn it. I don't find this to be a valid criticism, since the narrative is not about healthy people. The main character is not supposed to be an icon, someone to look up too. So it makes sense they would fail to see something the viewer can, the issue with the pedophilia of their father.

Overall, not a terrible game. Really not good either though. I don't think it is at all worth the price of 17.99. Again, I would direct you towards Gone Home or Firewatch for a similar game worth that. I got it on sale for >2 bucks, and that is the only situation in which I would recommend this.

I really like this name. It is very fun, and even though it has an extremely simple basic mechanic, it does so much with it and has many legitimately hard levels. I bought this on steam after completing the mobile version of this game, and if you have also played the mobile game I would suggest you do the same. For this version, 6 out of the 30 levels are unique, with the other 24 also being in the mobile game. The mobile game itself has 4 unique levels on top of the 24 shared ones. A full accounting of that is all here [photos.app.goo.gl]. Anyway, this is a great game. I would totally recommend it, even if you have played the mobile game already.

Fantastic game. Great sequel to blind forest. The story is great and the simple design and art of the game is as well. So is the movement. Fighting not so much, the bosses are half decent. However, overall the game is great.

This game was quite entertaining. The way it uses the radio communication to drive the story is quite genius. I do think that it might have done more with the very open world it has (which in itself is quite impressive), but the story it gives you in that world is quite impressive, and there is a mode (once you complete the game) which just allows you to wander. There are a lot of places you never go in the story which this mode lets you go into. Overall, great game.
