The game for me started off fine at first. But as time when on, the game's PvP has become and more closer to the regular meta. With the recent card releases and the current state of PvP duels, I can say that the enjoyment of this game has plummeted for me. Reason why is that the meta of "not letting your opponent make a play and OTK" is becoming more apparent with decks such as Orcust and Shiranui. not to mention link monsters such as Knightmare Phoenix. Not only that, but the connection issue between players have become more commonplace, which is preventing smooth PvP duels. I have encountered this firsthand and it made PvP duels infuriating to play, as if Lady Luck has her hand on the wifi cable to pull the plug whenever she wants. Because of this, trying to attend events revolving around PvP has become more or less unplayable and unenjoyable in a nutshell. It was a fun game while it lasted, but unless Konami fixes these issues, then I'm pretty much done playing this. There are also speculations that my friends and I have on how Konami has a bias on whalers, but that's a can of worms I rather not open, as I said in my Master Duel review.

After revisiting this game and continuing to play the event PvP duels, I can pretty much say that the state of this game plummeted to a new low. With the new releases of the new cards that steamrolls previous decks and cards, the format of Master Duel has unfortunately become a "1 deck beats all" type of game now. Although not 100%, the new archetypes that prevents players from making a play at all is becoming more and more common. At this point, the duels have become more one-sided and basically have no room for creativity whatsoever. Not to mention that there is an issue with online connection that prevents players from smoothly play out a duel, thus making duels less and less enjoyable. Connect this with how the current meta is plaguing the game, and you have a two course meal of frustration and rage.

As of this point, the only worth that this game has is creating your own decks and spending time with friends that you have in Room Duels. Even then, it's short and most of the time you and your friends won't be on all the time. As for crafting new decks, the only way to get more without PvPing is through Solo Duels, around 60 gems per day. Unless Konami fixes the issues that is present in this game, don't expect me to PVP or do further event duels at this point. There are also some speculations that my friends and I have made on how the Konami made their games bias towards whalers, but that's a can of worms I rather not open.
