Frostpunk 2 aims to be more accessible and enjoyable for a wider audience, and it truly delivers. They've fixed several issues from the previous game. Notably, building management is now organized by zones, similar to City Skylines, rather than individual buildings. This change makes everything much simpler and easier to handle. While some perfectionists might miss the old system, I personally prefer the new method—it's less hassle.

I also love all the new features. Having finished the campaign, I'm excited to see what the endless mode has to offer. However, I wish the game was a bit harder. I'm still mixed about the overall feeling; there were times when I felt I should have failed—as I might have in the first game—but I didn't die once in officer mode, and losses were minimal.

I do miss the automatons. While we can still have them, they're no longer visually present, which is a bit disappointing. Additionally, the shift from days to weeks as the time measurement was a bit confusing at first.

There are some display issues that make text difficult to read because parts are missing. I'm not sure if this is because I played in French or if it's a general issue. Resource management has also become much simpler but can be annoying to handle. I found myself hitting the maximum capacity many times and had to organize to increase my limit.

Downside: Make sure to enable DLSS or an equivalent. Even with a 4080 GPU on ultra settings at 4K, I didn't get more than 30 fps. DLSS works wonders, boosting the frame rate close to 60 fps in DLSS Ultra.

Overall, despite some minor issues, Frostpunk 2 is exceptional and definitely worth playing!

I dove into Silica excited about its potential as a new RTS on the block. Sadly, it's not there yet. The game feels unfinished with hardly any achievements or content, which really left me hanging. Honestly, I was hoping for so much more.

The community seems okay; people did respond when I reached out in chat, which was a plus. But it's not the vibrant, engaging atmosphere I was hoping for.

Bug issues? Yep, they're here too and pretty annoying. They mess with the gameplay, turning what should be a strategic battle into a session of frustration.

Silica could be amazing, but right now, it's like a rough draft of a great game. Here's to hoping the devs step up their game—because I really want to love it.
