After many hours and thoughtful reflection, I can finally write the review I've been meaning to write for months.

I'll start by saying, I wouldn't recommend Cities Skylines 2 at this time. At its core, the game is amazing and showcases the expansive sandbox that will inspire the next decade creativity, and I have faith that C.O. will get there.

That time is not now and we don't feel close. The current iteration of the game lacks any challenge and there are some game breaking features that prevent the played from ever forming a deep connection with the game. Sure, you can build massive and functional cities that span the insane sized maps, but there's no reason to. Once to get to a certain point in the game, around milestone 13 or 14, money becomes no object and the only thing limiting you is locked behind future milestones. The game does not fail as long as you follow the basic City Builder blueprint.

CO has stated that they intent to improve the game over time and will be focusing on large scale patches. This is great, but if you buy the game today you will feel the lack of depth immediately. Content should not come at the expense of gameplay. Please wait to purchase this game until you see the bugs fixed, you'll be happy you waitied.

Awesome strategy game

While the game was fun at first, the devs have not contributed to the game in years and there is little value to the play time now. I wish the devs would come back and create more content for the game, as it was fun and had potential.

Incredible game. Very impressive that one developer has been able to add so much content to the game. I'm 14 hours in and I have barely dented the gameplay.
