DBC14 crashes often on Windows 11. I tried all of the tricks to make it work, but to no avail. It's difficult to relax during a Test match, wondering if and when it will freeze.

A thoroughly enjoyable game.
If you are a fan of the franchise and looking for something a little different, it's worth playing through.

The game takes place during Thanksgiving 1991, two years after the events of Ghostbusters II. It contains the likenesses and voices of the original Ghostbusters and plenty of fan service throughout.

Takes about 12 hours to complete, if you're looking to fill a gap.

First off - if you're playing Doom 3 in 2021 be sure to search out the 'Absolute HD mod' and 'Trent Reznor Soundpack'

These certainly add a bit of spice to a title which is now almost 20 years old.

Although it's an old title, it's easy to see how mind blowing this was back in the day
(I never got around too it for whatever reason when it was launched)

but maybe that's it's downfall. People were so caught up in how awesome it looked and played, they maybe looked past the fact that, whilst it begins genuinely creepy and awesome, it soon becomes repetitive.

Go here - collect a staff members PDA - unlock a door.

Rinse and repeat for what seems like forever. The scenery is very much the same throughout the majority of the game which doesn't help the feeling of slogging on and on.

You'll probably find yourself googling the Mission List just to see how much longer you have left to suffer when you're getting towards the end (you think - until you see there's another 10 missions to go!")

Doom 3 never had native support for a controller. Having played it through with a PS5 controller mapped to keyboard commands. It may feel a little clunky at first .. .but it does work very well considering it's age.
(just use the mouse on the menus)

TL:DR - the Game still holds up and would be really great if it was a bit shorter. Far too much of the same thing for what feels too long. Controller does work well / Mods look great

If you never played around with Police Quest back in the day, it won't have the same charm from days of yore.
(and it's the charm that's really the backbone of this collection in 2021)

Whilst the original Police Quest was given a wonderful VGA makeover in 1992 which updated the graphics and sound dramatically (and also introduced the familiar point and click interface)

Police Quest 2 was never given this treatment. I'm afraid EGA graphics with Sierra's Interpreter parser engine is just far too dated to be enjoyable in the modern world, which is a real shame because jumping from PQ1 to PQ3 means you miss out on a chapter of Sonny Bonds life.

Whilst PQ is an enjoyable game and a very realistic take on Police Procedures - it's very unforgiving. Something we very rarely see in PnC's is dead ends or death. Police Quest has this in abundance.

Forgot to search a suspect after handcuffing them? ... .you best hope your last save wasn't too far back
Not got your gun holstered at the correct time? ....queue the death cutscene
Missed something from the Previous day? - The game will continue which seems like you're doing fine, but you will hit a dead end (sometimes takes a while to even realise this)

This can be very frustrating but also goes back to the 'charm' element of these games. You're happy to forgive these shortcomings as you want to follow the story of Sonny Bonds life on the beat.

and then along comes Police Quest 4 . .. . . . . in an age where digitised graphics were the style of the moment (Mortal Kombat - Pitfighter etc) PQ4 jumped on the wagon and whilst at first sight, it looks great. It's really a step backwards in the series.

what?! . . .how could they!

The digitised graphics make this game very poor. Objects don't stand out on the digital photographed backgrounds, so you find yourself mindlessly clicking the look button on every square inch of the screen so as to be sure you haven't missed anything.

PQ4 introduced speech to the series for the first time.......awful - straight back to text option.....

To summarise - PQ is a great series which is well worth playing through if you had any experience with it back in the day. it really does follow Police Procedures very well and seeing Sonny go from Traffic Cop to Sergeant warms the heart. If only PQ2 was given that magic VGA makeover ......it would fill a disappointing void in the series

(one word of advice - Print the grid map for PQ3 - it makes a fairly frustrating driving engine a whole lot better)

What's there to say about Sam and Max that people don't already know. A great PnC with some amusing moments and those lovely old skool Lo-res graphics!

An interesting little pnc with an amusing twist. it's short and sweet (roughly 30 mins) but it's worth a play through if you enjoy the Genre.

A cult classic Sci-Fi pnc. A great story which still holds up today (more than ever).
Having played it alot on the Amiga as a kid, not really getting what was going on....it's great to have finished the game almost 30 years on.

Having seen people say they think the Single Player campaign is too short, I think it's a good enough length with lots of variation. If you're a fan of the Star Wars franchise, you'll enjoy it!

The progression system is a little confusion at first but once you get to grips with it - Multi-Player is awesome, featuring all the Legendary characters.

Whilst the Special edition modern makeover looks good. It's too cartoony and makes it feel like a different game altogether. I picked this up as a hassle free way of re-playing Classic Monkey Island. Combined with the Ultimate Talkie patch, it's a fantastic play-through of this Legendary PNC

Pretty clunky to play on modern machines, but if you enjoyed it back in the DOS days, it's worth the play-through on steam
