Really satisfying simulator. I like it better than Dead in Bermuda. Five stars!

Compared to Orwell, this game makes some smart design choices, and some less-than smart ones.

One thing they do well is they reduce the amount of query-able individuals down to a small, core amount. This means you're not wasting your time so much with irrelevant information about side characters.

On the downside, the progress of the game feels completely arbitrary; entering a piece of data could trigger the agent to suddenly provide you with a piece of information that is not at all related; leading to a sense of a lack of continuity or logic to the game's progression.

Overall a good experience, and worth playing, especially if you liked Orwell.

I was really really excited for Vampyr. I was a big fan of Dontnod since Remember Me and was excited about the spooky 1910's London vampire setting. In the end, I was left disappointed, but I think it would be worth a sale purchase if this genre is up your alley.

Pros:
Spooky vampire London setting during the time of the Spanish Flu
A lot of narrative content for a $50 game
20-40 hours of gameplay.

Cons:
-No difficulty setting with a "good playthrough" being punishingly difficult
-Poor locomotion and selective teleportation mechanics; gates, doors that are locked with no clear reason or way of opening
-Very poor combat (I can only point the gun by pointing my character?!)
-Have experienced 3 crashes, one of which bricked my save until I was able to grab the beta patch
-Dialogue has no consideration for order of speaking points (i.e. if you choose option B they might mention option A without being told about it)
-Dialogue mechanics enforce a volume of meaningless dialogue (how are you, hows your day, tell me about this part of town)
-Small heads up - there is a light/lamp at most "hideouts" that flickers in a very extreme way, could easily trigger a seizure in those that are prone

Anyone who loves board games will enjoy this game.

If you like a bit of strategy & thinking 3 turns ahead but want to do 30-minute games that dont go on forever, this game is perfect for that.

Great art and systems that are robust enough to be fun without being tedious.

Emily is Away (and 2) never fails to get right up under any long-hidden teenage emotions and just rip your heart out.

Evelyn was the person I was and Emily was the person I wanted to be. In the end, I had neither. Curse you game!!!!!!!!!

I was really skeptical about the second season of LIS. Being made by a different development studio, I didn't know what to expect coming in.

I have to say, I was not disappointed. Although this a MARKEDLY shorter experience than season 1, I still feel like they pulled off everything right. The soundtrack was great, the vibe was good, I feel like they really understood everything that was good about season 1. They covered a lot of plot points which lead to the events in S1 (S2 is a prequel). A lot of folks had issue with the change in voice acting - it honestly wasn't a difficult change for me since it'd been a few months since I'd played S1. Anyway, if you like S1, I think S2 is a natural choice. I was skeptical, but I think it sticks the landing.

Very underrated game that came out this year. A true testament to "AAA on a budget" like Hellblade.

Interesting puzzle mechanics, combat that is fun without being action-packed, great voice acting, storytelling, and visuals. What more can you ask from a 6-8 hour game for $25?

I was able to beat this game in one sitting. Very silly, adult humor in kid-game setting. Good for a laugh. Probably better played on mobile.

This game is hilarious and fun! It's a turn-based insult-builder. At the price given, it's 100% worth it.

I really enjoyed it!

This is 5 hours of an interactive adventure on the nature of cybersecurity and the age of free data. Will you imprison people on circumstatial evidence? *shakes 8 ball* Very likely!
