I'm too sleep deprived to write anything fancy but yes this game is fun and I do recommend it.
The visuals are very nostalgic, and the music is a bop. I appreciate the wide options, such as frame rate, ghost visibility, etc.

I'm very biased. I just want the IP of Metal Slug to succeed.
But yeah, this is indeed a phone game, which comes with the usual caveats.

Nice visuals and music! Call me a casual, but I was rather proud of finally getting through all them stages in Easy Mode, I think, once I started going for the shiny collectable rings in order.

Hard as hell puzzles and knowing where to go at times, had to check many videos, and even then it wasn't always clear to me. But the vibes are immaculate, so I will still leave a thumbs up. Really cute dragon! Well done, dev. I think I only realized near the very end I could pretty much Sonic spindash my way around haha

I didn't feel very free, but man

So I was riding this game hard upon launch, and it's tons of fun, but the reservations I had in the back of my head regarding monetary aspects came to fruition. I do kinda wish there was a Mixed button, since the game itself is great, and I've been much more able to get into this compared to any other fighting game (other than stuff like Smash), and that's without me using Modern Controls. The tutorials are a lot more intuitive, and the game feel is just great. The addition of single player content is also very much appreciated. Generally, there's a lot that I can praise here, but the pricing of costumes are not one of them. Not for a full priced game. If things change, I'll definitely make this a thumbs up, but as things stand, I'm kinda iffed.

Even if you're a big earner (or a whale), wouldn't you prefes prices of (mind you) infintely reproducible *digital* gaming transactions stay fair instead of gradually becoming... rather insane, to be blunt? As much as real, physical figurines? You do realize that the limit is sneakily pushed because consumers allow it to be? You'd stay far richer that way. Also—you can clown emoji this all you want, but if you take a proper good look in the mirror, upon some quick self reflection, you'll be seeing the makeup. No, skins may not be necessary on a gameplay level, but they're undeniably a core part of most games these days, and their feeling of expression (and sometimes progression). I don't expect everything to be free or easily unlockable, but damn. SFV sure had it better in that aspect.

Regardless, preaching aside, Happy Holidays and all that. Devs still put a lot of heart and soul into this one, that's for sure. I just wish I could champion it as much as I truly want to, without there being major caviats in the way.

I liked that one part with the creepy uncanny town's citizens.
