Pros: Beautiful, fun fishing mechanics, great soundtrack
Cons: Meh story (especially the end), short (and apparently DLC arenʻt worth it)

Overall: Buy on sale

Wishes: More gear to unlock, longer storyline

Long time DA fan, wanted so bad to like this game, but it never reaches "good game" status. There are fragments of good storytelling, but you have to sift through bad, repetitive dialogue (wayyyy too many voice overs) and jump over plot holes to find them. There's a lot of items and side quests that are just running around, burning the clock, offering no real substance for gameplay or story. Level design is the same--mostly filler, little world building. The romance options could have been good, but fall flat (especially Lucanis). This game is all calories with no flavor.

A lot of updates could fix this up to be a game that's "okay", but I'm not sure there's any salvaging it to make it worthy of the Dragon Age series specifically.

This tragedy was entirely self-inflicted considering how Bioware treated their staff, even during Inquisition's production (and the later Mass Effect games).

This will probably be the last Bioware game I'll ever purchase, and that breaks my heart more than being a Solavellan stan.

UPDATE: Appreciate the fact that Larian is still trying to update/patch things and allegedly promises not to release DLC, so I'll give them a thumbs up. Most of my previous complaitns remain, especially re: immersion. But Larian hasn't given up, so I won't either.

Also, big props that you can do couch co-op without having to purchase another copy of the game. Some issues there, too, but overall still a fun, playable experience.

Previous Review: I really, really, realllllly wanted to give this a thumbs up, and maybe I will if they patch a bunch of stuff, but this was sadly a disappointment, from gameplay to glitches to story and more. I'm not sure if it's the camera, plot, gameplay, or characters (or all of them) but the immersion just wasn't there. I spent most of my time save scumming, a lot of the time due to glitches during battle or even dialogue (e.g. getting the same answer from an NPC despite asking two very different questions??). Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of gems throughout the game, but everything falls apart in Act 3, especially the last 10%. They tried to make too much and so the game feels like a jumble of ideas rather than a cohesive project.

I crippled my hands playing this game and still couldn't stop. I don't even like roguelikes but damn, this one got me, from gameplay to graphics to story to music. OH MY HADES THE MUSIC. And to top it all off, this game is a bisexual dream. A++++ on every front, can't wait for the next one to come out.

Surprisingly fun park management game! Liked it enough to go buy the sequel. My advice? Don't buy the sequel.

Early Access Review
Peaceful, fun, and plenty of good updates. Easy to pick up and put down, which is helpful as a parent gamer. You can easily tailor the game to be chill or challenging. I'm glad I picked this game up early and I'm excited to see it grow.

Update 2025: Just wanted to stay still love this game, super happy I get to keep playing it as it expands. Thank you, devs.

A redemption story that boils down to kids parenting/forgiving ♥♥♥♥♥♥ parents. Beautiful aesthetic, but the story took a poor turn and there could be some tweaking done to improve the game mechanics, every animal feels stiff and awkward.

First time I played this series and now I'm hooked for life. There's a lot of items they push for you to buy, but you can get away with never spending more than the initial purchase price and have a great time with this game.

You really feel it if you play this game solo--you can, but everything will be a lot harder and take a lot longer. The controls are still clunky and the graphics are meh. Sound design might be better with headphones, but on TV speakers it's annoying trying to balance it out enough to hear the instructions. Hanging in there, but for now, wouldn't recommend.
