Billed as the ultimate depression-amplifying videogame, Consumer Softproducts' latest and greatest game is all that and more. You've probably heard about Cruelty Squad, or seen it on the news, and maybe you've attended a Cruelty Squad demonstration at any one of the many things that Consumer Softproducts has attended in the past two years. You may have heard that it contains 3 million lines of code and is the central figure in a battle with the Justice Department that may last well into the next century. But before we look at the final release of Cruelty Squad, (build 1.0), let's backtrack a bit and explore why this product is the way it is, and how it got that way along the long road to its completion.

In all seriousness, the remaster also conflicts with the original art style significantly and introduces no new gameplay or content. I recommend you find a way to p i r a t e the original and just disregard multiplayer entirely if you want to actually experience dark souls 1.

amazing game, awesome setting. the game has a high level of detail and polish despite looking rather primitive. Its very clear that the devs care about their product. one thing i will say though is that some mechanics are extremely unbalanced, and getting a stronger character often requires really tedious grinding.

for a game that takes place in the ocean, its quite the shallow experience.
this is a trash scanning game.
you go around on the ocean floor and you scan trash. thats the whole game.
the game also only feels like 80% done, but the devs say that the game is done. Don't support developers that do that. don't buy this and don't buy their future games.

bundle this with the remaster, theres no reason to let this version die.

at first glance, you might just think this to be a controversy-fueled cash grab of a game, but the developers actually care about their product so its a fun experience. my favorite part is the atmosphere the maps provide, being full of ambient sound and small details. in that way it reminds me of source games like half-life 2 and garry's mod.
