Early Access Review
okay so i'm writing this after 90 minutes of gameplay. please keep that in mind because i'm not trying to act like a know it all. i'm only recommending this game because i believe jagex will be able to successfully create a fun game. but, i do have a few things to complain about. the first three are technical critiques. first the visual aspect, the colors in this game are way too vibrant. yes, i messed with my monitor settings and this didn't improve much. second the image is very blurry, no matter what graphical settings i tweaked the image was either blurry or pixelated. the re engine and unreal engine 5 just see to have this issue, and this will most likely be resolved once there are additional graphical options in the future. third is the fps performance, it's pretty bad but manageable for sure. i have a decent pc build, like mid-tier with solid overclock settings and additional mobo settings.

as for the game mechanics, i can't personally comment on if they are objectively good or bad due to my lack of experience with game mechanics of this sort. specifically combat feels like a simple tank and spank at this point in time. hopefully blocks will have a larger benefit, and i hope to god there is a sick parrying system added like in gunz the duel. but, again i need to express i have little to no experience with combat mechanics of this type.

the skill trees and exp systems, crafting, and building is standard. something i found obnoxious was the needing a roof for some of the crafting stations. the bed is understandable. what was obnoxious was building the station to then find out you need to build a roof for protection. i wouldn't doubt there was an indicator for this and i didn't read because i am after all a moron that just clicks buttons.

i have not played with friends or random players at this time. i just wanted to focus on experiencing the game itself before that shared experience that's objectively fun. oh, can i suggest not having almost every animal aggressive to the player. specifically the chickens and cows... the deer/elk are not aggressive, but the chickens and cows are? why? another suggestion would the rune alters not being a crafting station players build. i believe scattering these throughout the world would be a great way to encourage players to explore the environment. even though this is a different type of game that's just a fundamental in the philosophy of runescape itself. just fruit for thought.

so yeah i'd recommend buying this early access to support jagex. i believe this game will turn out fine.

thanks for reading the book. gl hf.
