I've been playing MMORPGs for a long time and although I was quite excited about New World, after reaching level 60 and finishing the quest for the "legendary" weapons (more on that later), I feel like the excitement has winded down.

The endgame content is grinding GS (Gear Score) in open world dungeons called Elite Spots, where you can easily get overwhelmed by 20+ players at the same place (good luck getting any drop if you are not in a party or even if you are). Other than that there are open world PvP (which I can't talk about, because I don't do it very often), instanced dungeons, territory wars, invasions, corruption, and boss arenas.

For the instanced dungeons you get two keys while doing quests (one from the main quest and the other from side quests), if you want to farm dungeons you need to craft more keys (until recently it was somewhat a hassle to do so, because we were unable to do the level 55+ corruptions). The dungeons are quite fun to go with your guild-mates though (some of them at least).

Territory wars are cool, but very laggy, which makes enjoying it difficult as the characters shift from one place to the other constantly (not to mention the freezes). After the war we have corrupted invasions, currently I've seen people do these only for the gold and azoth, as they are very hard if not impossible to win (unless when the monsters bug and seem to not care about attacking).

Corruptions, tbh, are one of the coolest contents available at the moment imo. It is really cool to farm with a group, but they are susceptible to lag just like the territory wars.

Finally, we come to the boss arenas. These are quite challenging fights that require a well geared group to defeat. In other to do those the group needs to have a key that can be obtained by killing monsters (I am not sure if you can craft these).

So, the quest for the so called "legendary" weapons (that are actually epic tier weapons). These are a pain to do, not only because they are challenging as you are required to kill level 60+ elite mobs, but AGS had zero creativity on those. They are very repetitive as you are asked to kill a bunch of mobs and get loot from the in all eight or nine steps, for EVERY weapon you want. I did three quests(one for each weapon I use) and boy that was one of the worst experiences I had questing in a MMO.

The crafting system is quite cool and one of the best systems I've seen in a MMO, although some professions are ridiculously painful to farm (Jewelcrafting and Furnishing). This is where players will spend most of the time after reaching level 60.

Conclusion, Amazon's New World has a lot of potential, but the release state of the game feels like an Open Beta at most. The game lacks some endgame content and feels empty after reaching 60. Now if you are someone that likes to grind mobs 24/7 and do the same quests with different names in different places, or if you like crafting/gathering, you might enjoy the game for what it is now. I would honestly wait for more content to be released before considering playing New World.
