Okay let's settle this, mister THQ Nordic.
This is... really interesting, but not promising. We need remaster that can give us, veteran and new players, the real Gothic 1 atmosphere.

It's not bad, i'm just, well, confused after playing this.

THE GOOD
-Diego.
-Graphics. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this is Unreal Engine 4 right?
-Character models
-Combat system from Kingdom Come: Deliverance/For Honor
-Music. I mean it's not Gothic 1 anymore, and combat music sounds... well, like Witcher 3 - but MAAAN IT KICKS ASS!
-New equipment and notes system
-You still can't look at the world map without purchasing it. Good.
THE BAD
-Diego. I mean, he's sounding handsome and... all... of... that... but... really... long... pauses... between... words...
-Starting cutscene. Intro is great, really! I can feel the dark tone of war, desperation of the King to get the magic ore and all of that. But I CAN'T ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ STAND THE PROTAGONISTS CHARACTER AND VOICE ACTING. He sounds like clown. He's acting like a clown. Please change that, THQ. Voice is great, but he needs to sound more professional, and it's annoying how he's talking to himself 24/7
-... no leitmotiff from Gothic in music! For Innos sake, i know i'm sounding like a nostalgic 30 year old boomer but YOU NEED to put it into the game to set the dark tone of Mining Colony
-There's no atmosphere of Gothic 1. Looks like you're trying to make knock-off Witcher game. Protagonist talking to himself, trying to make one-liners and all of that.

VERDICT
I can't recommend it at the moment. It's not Gothic 1. Please, listen to the players. Good luck, THQ!

Unplayable.

All you need to do is to rush first three points with your infantry, then you can quickly buy new equipment and defend yourself, and after that you can quickly ♥♥♥♥ your enemy.
You can't win if you don't have resources.
You need to capture points to have them.
You can't do it without resources.

Poorly optimised, mods (even with workshop) can't load properly, de-synchronisation means end of MP match.
AI is the definition of 420 mlg pro cheater (your grenade deals 30% of dmg, AI can kill your tank with them).
DLC's are trash.



Don't play it unless with friend and vs AI or just for shietposting. Or for campaign (yes, it's nice)

it's like r6s but instead of kapkan or blackbeard you have four badass clone commandos and great singleplayer campaign

soundtrack: wonderful!
not the typical star wars orchestra with some inspiring marvel farts added to it, hononono, the whole new mandalorian songs adds the "warrior" feeling to the game, this is really something new! (search for vode an if you're interested)

gameplay is nice, but the hard difficulty is some kind of a joke (and i am tryhard player, or maybe i think i am...) and the game mechanics like giving orders to the commandos makes you feel like you're really boss of the elite republic squad

your teammates are interesting and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ badass, they have their own one-liners, characters and voices (yup, and they sound great)

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, this game aged great - i recommend it to everyone, not only star wars fans
