Feels like a looser, faster Outriders but with ridiculous looking characters (both titillating and ridiculous). The gun play and actual combat is extremely loose, but very quick. Encounters are fairly straight forward until you get into the later stages of normal play in the game (around 15 hours in, I'd say).

Visually and performance wise it's a mixed bag. The main characters have a lot of detail put into them, especially player characters. You can hem and haw over how ridiculously sexualized the female character designs are (especially when compared to the male player character designs, which are fairly generic in comparison), but the game looks fairly good. Does the extreme "waifu" energy bother me? Somewhat. Is it tolerable? Personally... most of the time. I find Bunny to be the most egregious and I haven't used her in 10 hours because I can't really stand to see her hangin' out all there.

Performance can be mixed on auto settings. Even with frame generation, sometimes my FPS would dip below 60 FPS, then skyrocket to over 160 FPS. Why? Haven't the foggiest. For me, combat performance hovers around 80 FPS, which I think is okay.

Combat and traversal is serviceable. Shooting is plain and lacks impact, which honestly makes it feel almost identical to Outrider's gun feel. Skills are... odd in feedback. You see your damage or effects, but... it feels detached. Maybe it's because I press my skill's button, it flies out, does a little SFX, and then... some damage? In comparison to games like Warframe (which this game is aping hard), the character skills feel weightless.

The game is free. That's a big thing going for it. The story is so slight it's almost impossible to mention.

But... the game is free. Do I recommend it? Yeah, if you like a very grindy, acceptable game. I feel like this game is the very definition of a 6 or 7 out of 10 game. Serviceable, can kill a lot of time, and can be very mindless. I play it while listening to podcasts or pin a YouTube video with Steam's overlay.

Fairly fun gameplay and good, if simplistic, characters. I would have liked the characters to be developed more, but it is what it is. I vibe with Kisara's mom-energy, but I dislike Law's character as a whole.

Visually, the game is pretty nice! It's very Unreal Engine looking, but the stylized art style works well. There's some issues with muddy visuals in some scenes (especially on Steam Deck) and the frame rate consistency can be rough at times during combat.

Audio wise - nothing to complain about. Voice acting is acceptable and at some times is fairly good. Combat sounds are good, apart from the insane amount of chatter during combat (which is par for the course in this kind of game).

Controls wise... I wish you could dodge out of animations. The game buffers inputs, so if I accidentally hit "X" twice, it'll do the move assigned to X twice and it's hard to get out of it. Really punishes you if you get stuck in one of the longer combat animations.

Using other characters during combat (especially their combat trials) highlights how unwieldy the combat can be. It's annoying controlling them and performing their moves. It's probably the worst part of the game.

Definitely recommend if you want a Japanese designed action RPG.

The campaign - so far - is pretty great. I don't like having to aim my gun at civilians to "de-escalate", which is hilariously horrible, but the machismo got-your-back quippy dialog and campaign is fun.

Multiplayer is good fun. It's still laser tag. I wish the bunny-hopping would be penalized a bit more and that's pretty much my only large complaint.

Presentation wise, the game looks great and sounds amazing. There's a big issue around depth of field and upscaling techniques, like DLSS and XeSS, which creates an aura of noise around characters. It makes stuff very... fuzzy, yet noisy. I decided to turn DoF off to keep DLSS up. Even after the GeForce driver update. Hopefully it'll be fixed.

Co-op is fine. Just... fine. That's pretty much all I can say about it. No interest in Warzone.

A great managing game with a couple small quirks.

If you're a fan of racing sports - I'm a fan of F1 - it's great to manage your own team. While F1 Manager has some better qualities - much higher quality visuals (this is a much older game with a much smaller budget) and some more quality-of-life improvements - the variety in this game is top-notch. I highly suggest buying the GT DLC to have something different.

The small downsides of this game are mainly odd performance issues - sometimes there are frame drops during a race, most likely when it's processing more AI routines or something along those lines - and a couple bugs, mainly in UI. There are little oddities, like the fuel rounding up when refueling (the game doesn't tell you that or I must have missed that), which are odd.

Overall, fun game. Sometimes it's rough to come back from a stretch of bad luck and sometimes it feels impossible to catch up once you're behind. I guess that's what a new career is for!

This is a well developed, well supported, and is actively progressing with its story and content. Would I recommend this game as it stands right now? Yeah, sure.

Would I recommend someone new play? Definitely not.

Like many "live" games, the consistent development and game progression means it becomes more and more targeted towards the existing player base. Bungie has tried developing the new-player-introduction several times, to mixed success. The very fact Bungie has removed years of story content and has no introductory video, a la "the story so far", cements the fact this game is not built for new players.

Even if you are a returning player, you'll need to look at lore and story videos on YouTube rather than have the game itself catch you up.

If you are a recent player: yeah, this game still rocks. New player? I would say stay away until Bungie develops a sufficient enough new player introduction. The current one is very lacking.

A chill game. It can be a puzzle game (very laid back as it is) or a relaxed, creative game. Smooth, calming music in the background and a lovely storybook color palette. Worth it at full price.

I bought this game long ago for its VR support. I always thought a rogue-like (lite?) space-fighter game would be cool. The concept is awesome, but the VR support leaves much to be desired.

I frequently have poor tracking and drift. This is the only game I have issues with. It getes to the point where I start to become swimmy-headed, the only game I feel so after playing. I'm pretty good with VR games and feeling motion sick, but something about this game really does not sit well with me. While I know the games are completely different... I'd rather play Elite: Dangerous.

A thoroughly interesting and intense role-playing experience. Great visuals, interesting story lines (there are a multitude of them), and great DLC support. The only downside to this game would be its combat - sometimes it feels finicky and unfair - but in general the combat is intense and satsifying, especially on higher difficulties.

A wholehearted positive recommendation.

This is the next game in the modern Deus Ex games. It builds upon the foundation that Human Revolution laid several years ago, but adds some more customization (weapons and Jensen himself) and more fleshed out gameplay.

Experimental modifications/abilities such as short range dashes, impervious armor, and long range non-lethal takedowns (among other things) must be balanced with other modifications.

The gameplay itself is cover-based first person shooting, with exploration and conversation dialog interactions.

The only blemish I would say is the performance. The game performs well - many reviewers are playing the game with insane MSAA x2 or x4 enabled. Disable MSAA, take down Volumetric Lighting down to ON, Screenspace Reflections to On/High, and Contact Hard Shadows to On/High. Very little visual change, but you gain 20-30 FPS on average.

The performance issues Steam users are having are a bit blown out of proportion. Tweak the game slightly and you'll get the performance you're looking for.

I, so far, have enjoyed my time with No Man's Sky.

It's a procedurally generated, space-faring, survival-focused exploration game. Graphics are a mix of pixels (ships, characters, weapons) and voxels (destroyable environment, procedurally generated flora).

The gameplay is simple. You maintain your suit and your ship, craft upgrades, use a mining laser (or ship blasters) to strip environments, flora, fauna, and miscellaneous objects of their delicious crafting resources. It's a simplistic game, relaxing in its scope, and it's fun to lay back and play for a couple hours at a time.

The nature of this game has definitely been blown out by the marketing put forth by Sony and Sean Murray's deliberate obfuscation of the truths of No Man's Sky. However, as a survival exploration game, it works beautifully. I'm enjoying my time.

A large issue is performance. I suggest turning off V-Sync and taking the Frame Limit up to Max. If those do not work, go into the game settings file and turn G-Sync to False. After I turned V-sync off and put the Frame Limit to Max, I went from 20-30 FPS to 60-110.
