Remember playing random Use Map Setting or Custom Maps in StarCraft, StarCraft 2 or WarCraft 3?

Remember those tug of war games where you'd put a unit down, it walks forward, then you felt great joy (or sadness) as it murdered the opponent's unit?

This is the above type of game, and it has the exact same effect those kind of games had me 20 years ago: JUST ONE MORE GAME AND ILL GO TO BED!!!

Except I'm nearly 40 now and when the above happens, I call in sick to play more Mechabellum.

Get this game! Better than crack!

Some pretext: I speak Mandarin. I cannot read Chinese because I immigrated here too young.

This game has Mandarin VAs and supports ultrawide. It's also an RPG, where you play as the main character who wants to bring peace during the Three Kingdom's era. You get to see the whole tale unfold through your own eyes.

This is a musou game with heavy RPG mechanics, and it hits hard. This game captures the 1 vs 1000 feeling more than any other Dynasty Warrior has, and I've been playing them since 1 (yes, the fighter,)

If you like Dynasty Warriors, you cannot go wrong with this game. If you're Chinese and remember #AznPride, you will absolutely love this game. 10/10 for me!

Monster Hunter and Pokemon had a baby but Monster Hunter's genetics overpowered Pokemon's, so the baby looks and acts like Monster Hunter.

Get this game if you understand the above; you won't regret it!

Honestly better than PoE2 in it's current state. Also, frankly, less P2W rn vs PoE2.

If you have expendable income, play this over PoE2 because chances are your free time is like mine; you cannot afford to no life like PoE2 wants you to.

If you are into anime big tiddy high heels aesthetics, play this btw. They added a gender bender skin and her ass hangs out. 10/10 worth my money!

If you don't have expendable income and are living at home, where your parents or welfare checks are helping you P2W for life, chances are you have time. Go play PoE2 instead!

Can't review this game without mentioning the big two:

Diablo 4, and PoE1/2.

This game lands in-between the two in terms of complexity. However, in terms of presentation, this game actually looks/feels disgustingly bad. Like bad to the point where it looks and feels worse than Torchlight Infinite, a free to play mobile game.

The two biggest detractors for this game that make me regret my purchase: graphics, sound effects, and everything related to presentation are bad. You don't get the OOOMPH from attacks like you do in PoE2 or Diablo 4. The graphics look like WoW, except WoW looks like a cartoon and this looks like a game trying to look real but ended up like a cartoon.

Controller support is also trash. My inputs get dropped. They are NEVER dropped in PoE1/2, D4, or Torchlight Infinite.

So, with all that said, as much as I love ARPGs and wanna support an AA dev company, this is not my cup of tea.

Early Access Review
I've had this game since Friday and am on vacation. I'm a working adult with a wife and dog for reference and this game influenced me to act like a degen from high school again.

Before recommending the game, it's worth noting the PoE fan base is a bit cancerous. It is very similar to Steam/Valve fans where nothing negative can be said about the game, or the vocal fan base gets extremely defensive whether passive aggressively or straight up aggressive.

With that said, if you ignore the toxic fan base by not interacting with them, you have a mutation/baby of the following games:

Monster Hunter
Soulsborne (Elden Ring, Dark Souls, Bloodborne)
Lost Ark
Grim Dawn
Diablo 2

And the result is beautiful. The game rewards you for mechanically understanding how not to get hit, and returning the pain but also forces you to learn how to build (aka. have a long term goal/plan.) The target audience for this game would likely be a fan of any of the above games. The learning curve, however, is sharp, especially if you are melee. The build learning curve, thankfully, is much less insane than PoE1 due to the removal of gem links on items (thank god.)

If you are Diablo 4 player and found D4's end game extremely lacking, you will find PoE2 not only looks better than D4, it has a far more fleshed out endgame than D4 despite being in EA.

If the above sounds like your thing, you have nothing to lose playing EA as the game is quite stable and very controller friendly....but you'll probably have to logout and switch back to mouse to manage your stash and inventory (big con, take note GGG!)

Trash game. Spatial audio engineering is poor; cannot tell which direction someone is coming from behind. Handling/physics//sensation of speed is all wrong.

Go to iRacing or ACC if you want cheaper option.

I'm an ex track junkie and real life as a baseline ain't wrong.

I've played many gachas.

The problem with ToF is purely in quality control. The UI has elements overlaying on top of one another. Controller inputs do not do anythiing following onscreen instructions. The voice acting clips over or cuts out.

Because I tend to spend on gachas, I would like to know the company I am supporting has attention to detail. The above shows zero attention to detail, and so I cannot recommend this game. Especially considering the power creep and cost per character. You want my money? Do a better job because this is OFFENSIVELY poor.

The only anime version of Slay the Spire that's worth it!
