You know ♥♥♥♥ is about to get real when Mr Crawling becomes Mr Walking

Came over after playing The Red Strings Club and like that game, this one has a great story. The art style and music are wonderful with the latter really drumming up the weight of decisions you have to make throughout.

I made a very flippant choice in the early game that had me crying at the end so much so that I had to talk to my sister immediately after I finished that play-through. Don't make that same choice if you're a crybaby like me.

The tarot card making itself is very fun. I don't consider myself a very creative person nor particularly "into" tarot itself, but the designs are pretty and there's a sort of elemental system at play to help construct them and help inform you of the consequences they have when drawn in fortune telling. Due to the nature of these cards there's definitely replay value as different cards will lead to differences in major story characters.

I'd buy it at full price but if you are someone who is unsure about getting used to new mechanics (I haven't come across something like the tarot card builder) it might be best to get it on sale. There's an autosave function as well that might turn some folks away from a game that is very choice-heavy.

Short horror puzzle game I'd recommend to folks buying on sale especially since you'll either love it or find it tedious/annoying. If you have an interest in being particularly nosy or like fleshing out the stories/lives of the people you stalk in this game, you'll have a better chance at the sacrifice section as you have to perform tasks based on little tidbits of knowledge that you are expected to have memorised. Voice acting and the music is a plus.

Hint for the sacrifice portions: If you incorrectly perform an action that has an "otherwise", such as "Break Rib #X if they have black hair, otherwise remove left lung", then you also need to perform the correct action for the sacrifice to be marked complete. Some of my frustration in levels was due to misunderstanding this.

I kinda felt sorry for a serial killer, but glad that a "good end" was included as a choice.

Enjoyed this game, though maybe a bit biased as a Kickstarter backer having followed this studio's work after The Divine Speaker, and dipping my toes in A Date with Death.

The character routes are interesting and each carry a pretty vital element of the story with them so it's definitely worth getting all the routes completed even if you don't care for collecting CG. Point & click/escape room segments were few, not difficult and I think helped pace the game early on - once you get a character route locked in it gets pretty hectic from there. If you aren't too sure as to whose route you are on, hint: their sprite will show up in the chapter title card.

If you're a fan of the "jumps" in Hashihime of the Old Book Town and are happy to pick up an emotional (SFW) story that explores a few overlapping themes, I recommend playing Dreambound.

Shout out to Rosamie for being the best fake girlfriend. One of my favourite side characters in this game.
