After learning about Berserk Games' terribly bigoted "moderation" rules regarding chat spaces and seeing people be banned for simply the mention of being LGBTQ, I cannot in good faith recommend this game unless something changes. Shame.

This game reminds me of early 2010's bethesda games. Big world to explore, mechanically fleshed out, and buggy as all get-out. But, very much in spite of that, I wholeheartedly recommend this to fans of horror games. It got more than its fair share of genuine spooks out of me.

8/10 needs more Vanny

TLDR Review for those scrolling: Cyberpunk 2077 is a very good game, but terribly flawed in many ways. However, the overall experience of the game is well worth tolerating the glitches.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a remarkable game, in a great many ways (both good and bad).

Let's get the negatives out of the way. For the most part, the only negatives to this game are really just the bugs. They range from small things like awkward driving AI causing traffic jams to major glitches like full-on crashes. They can become fairly pronounced on occasion, and have the primary issue of breaking immersion and weakening the player's suspension of disbelief. Sometimes they can cause extreme issues like crashes, or collision glitches causing the player to fall out of the world.

But now that that's acknowledged, let's discuss the good parts of Cyberpunk 2077: everything else!

Gameplay: The primary gameplay is comprised of leveling up your character to become tangibly more powerful by doing jobs for fixers around Night City, like hit missions, search-and-destroy type stuff, or investigating brain-dances. In addition, the central combat is also rather enjoyable, if a tad bit clunky.

Story: Thus far, I have only partially completed the storyline, and only through the Street Kid background, so I can't go terribly in depth here. I can say for certain though that the story is enjoyable and cohesive, and most importantly, properly reflects the values that cyberpunk as a genre of art holds so dear, namely anti-capitalism, embracing the queer liberation movement, and exploring both the ups and downs of transhumanism going forward. Speaking of the queer community, that's how I'll end my review.

Queer Representation: (If you're a bigot, just skip this part and go back to watching fox news, this isn't for you.) Cyberpunk 2077 really impressed me quite a lot with its representation of lgbtq+ folks. The marketing left a lot to be desired, really only using it to sexualize trans people in particular, but now that I've played the game, I can say with confidence that Cyberpunk 2077 gets full points for it. While playing the game, you'll notice the presence of queer people all over Night City. Gay couples casually holding hands or kissing with no fear, several ads depicting visibly trans people (which I'll give a pass for, since almost every ad in the game is sexual in nature), and actually a prominent lesbian main character in the form of Judy! Not only that, but you can even design your character to be transgender, and can romance certain same sex characters! (unfortunately there is little to speak of with non-binary representation, but I'm sure we'll get there some day.)

Cyberpunk 2077, if you can overlook the glitches, is really worth the investment of both your time and your money. It'll be worth your while, I promise.

edit: also even if you don't like anything else about it, Mantis Blades are absolutely worth the whole game for btw

Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom is the perfect 3D platformer. The smooth and responsive controls, bright and beautiful but not overwhelming atmosphere combined with the brilliant mix of linear and non-linear collectathon game design make for one of the best video game experiences you could ever have. Now, it's been beautifully remastered for PC and current gen consoles. If you can afford it, you must purchase it and play it to completion. I promise you won't regret it.

Now that ID Software has announced the removal of Denuvo, I figured I'd give a positive review to at least counteract the many negative impulse reviews that are unlikely to be reverted, despite the rollback of the only grievance listed in those reviews.

Doom Eternal is a masterpiece. The gunplay is satisfying, the movement is intuitive and thrilling, the new and classic demons are wonderfully fun to fight (except for the Marauder and Archvile) and even the controversial platforming segments are fun. Give it a buy, give it a try, and have fun.

Rip and tear, until it is done. <3

Edit: I nominated this game for Best OST. You should too.

BioShock is an absolute masterpiece. The gripping story, solid gameplay, and thematic implementation of its challenging of human free will combine to form an experience that would require the divine intervention to forget. As long as you know where you're going, the game doesn't drag anywhere. Buy and play through the entirety of this game, it's absolutely worth your money and time.

It's exactly what you should expect from Call of Duty. Nothing special, but good mindless fun.
As for the remaster, it's CoD4 but prettier. A lot prettier.
