Owned this on PC & PS3, I have put in nearly 400 hours in the PC version, another hundred for PS3.

I have gone out of my way to buy additional copies just so that I could give them to my IRL friends. I have friends that have spent hundreds of hours on it as-well.
I had this game pre-ordered as a gift for my seventeenth birthday, and have been playing it ever since.
After I played for a hundred hours, I decided that I didn't enjoy the constant hiccups and saving issues that the phat PS3 version had, and wanted to experiences the modding community this game had to offer.
This game has so much more quests and dialogue then the earlier fallout 3 game. I can understand why so many people say that it feels more like an expansion pack to fallout 3, because of the fact that there aren't that many new features than in fallout 3 (besides the recycling of ammo and the creation of foods and other gadgets & gambling.) However, there is a larger amount of story that you get in this game, and I feel that although the map may feel smaller, the world is quite a bit more larger.

After playing around for a couple dozen playthroughs, HD Texture packs, dozens of extra quests, extra casino's, lightning textures and The Strip reinvations mods will give you even greater amounts of gameplay.

If you like Fallout 3 already, play it, but recognize that the begining may start out a bit more slower than its predecessors.
