Early Access Review
"I may soon need to use the facilities..."

Literally everything I wanted in a survival-crafting game.

- Amazing atmosphere and setting
- Perfect homage to Half-Life
- Engaging gameplay with interesting and fun enemies to fight
- Awesome, unconventional weapons that deal some nasty damage
- You can use a crowbar
- You can upgrade the crowbar and become a force of nature
- Progression is slow, but it's worthwhile and unlocking secrets and short cuts is a delight
- Interesting story with great intrigue

Overall, can't say enough good things about this game. The current state is unfinished, but there is so much to see and do with what they've released so far. Given that Crush Depth just released and there's a plethora more to come, I can't wait to see what a 1.0 release of this game will look like.

Bravo to the devs for crafting a wonderful, fun, and easy-going survival game that is easy on the brain and extremely fun for the heart.

*Crashes once*

"Aw hell nah, time to review bomb it."

You people continue to impress me with your ignorance and further cement that you know nothing of game development.

It's a day one release, not by a AAA studio. You can play test the ♥♥♥♥ out of something but still have bugs that aren't caught.

They are actively working on a patch to fix these issues. Don't you sweat your pretty little heads, everything is gonna be fine.

The game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome. Absolutely the sequel I've been waiting for.

I will say, Cyberpunk has a special place in my heart.

A lot of people loved it, a lot of people hated it, but I hold it dear and true to me since it was one of the few games that captivated me with its story, characters, and core RPG gameplay. It's not often that I give a game this much recognition because most games these days are cookie-cutter, money grabbing, bland, derivative IPs that only aim to swallow the money out of your wallets. Cyberpunk, though, was an outlier. It had heart, it had substance, and it immersed me in one of my most favored themes of all time.

After 101 hours, and probably a hundred more after Phantom Liberty releases, I can confidently say that this game is absolutely a must-play for any RPG enthusiast.

Early Access Review
I will recommend this game because I am confident the developers know what they're doing, and in due time, they will deliver us a much better and way more expansive sequel to the critically acclaimed "The Forest."

- A lot of negative recommendations purely rely on the fact that the game is unfinished. What most reviewers don't understand is that in the first entry, ♥♥♥♥ was just as buggy and unfinished, until the devs made it the best damn thing since sliced bread. Also, it's Early Access for a reason. You WILL run into bugs, you WILL identify unfinished mechanics or broken features, and more importantly, you WILL likely be disappointed that you can't do something that the product page declared in its presentation. You are a "beta tester," for the lack of a better term. You are subject to these circumstances whether you like it or not.

- The game has unbelievable potential and I personally feel that it will blow the first one out of the water when the game reaches 1.0. The game is already fun to play, and it's also hilarious considering the wild amount of things you can do in the game: throw logs like a viking and kill enemies; effortlessly scale mountains like the eponymous goats; one/two tap mutants/cannibals with outrageously overpowered weapons; watch Virginia as her dead-eye skills mow down enemies; the list goes on. It's fun to play and wreak havoc with your friends.

- Enjoy yourself when you play this game. It's not finished, but it will be. The developers made clear on their promises to make the first game excellent, so I'm confident that they will do the same thing with this game.

EDIT:

After 1.0 release and some more time playing the updates, I can confidently say that this is literally the PERFECT survival game.

It has every aspect of a survival game you could want, with an intriguing and eerie story that paces itself appropriately, along with challenging enemies and emergent gameplay.

These devs outdid themselves, easily one of my top 5 survivals.

Unbelievable co-op game with great mission variety, progression, dialogue, and most importantly, a solid community willing to help you on whatever mission you choose. Hands down my favorite co-op game, and will play till my rocks turn to fine stone.

If you told me this game came out in 2009, I would've absolutely believed you because that time period could only bring about masterpieces such as this.

This is the Aliens game we deserve.

+ Fun, engaging and sometimes challenging combat.
+ Great selection of classes, each with interesting and fun abilities to unleash on the Xenos.
+ Each class can be leveled up and configured, allowing for increased longevity and replay value.
+ Detailed, crisp, and punchy weapons that make you feel like you're doing damage, that are also customizable.
+ Character creation is a nice bonus, whom can also be customized.
+ Variation in enemy Xenos is a nice touch, at higher difficulties it's even better.
+ Nostalgic overdrive to the Alien universe.
+ Plenty of supplemental options to further tailor your combat effectiveness, thus making you either a killing machine or an effective support element.
+ Emotes are hilarious.
+ Horde mode is great fun.

- Short campaign, but horde shooters generally have that going for them.
- AI companions cannot use abilities; best played with on easier difficulties. Useless on higher difficulties.
- AI enemies can RARELY get stuck on the geometry of the map, inhibiting progress of the mission.
- No VOIP for human companions, nor any command wheel to communicate effectively (with the exception of a ping system); just gotta trust that they know what they're doing.

Very minor inconveniences. I highly recommend this to anyone that's on the fence because I promise you that you'll have as much fun as I did playing. Sure as ♥♥♥♥ beats the disaster that was Aliens: Colonial Marines, so I'd say that's reason enough to check it out.

Imagine having a vengeance against demons
Then picture an unwavering lust for blood and gore
Add a little bit of ball-busting, head blasting, body exploding weaponry, equipment and melee combat
And you get yourself a neat little game

It's with a heavy heart that I cannot recommend the remaster of this game.

Performance issues, cinematic bugs, AI is abhorrently bad, and also a very annoying watermark telling me I'm not linked to 2K services. Like, I couldn't give less of a ♥♥♥♥ when all I want to do is play a single-player game.

Download and play the original. Don't bother with this sack of ♥♥♥♥.
