I think The Indie Stone only have 6 people still to this day. A better comparison would be Stardew Valley, which even though in the original concept was always meant to be multiplayer it took over 2 years after the official release to be added. That wasn't early access either, that was 2+ years of full release sales saying multiplayer would come in a free update.
I for one applaud The Indie Stone for not releasing B41 to the main branch until multiplayer works to their liking, regardless of how much people ask for them to release their current progress.
I hope you're right, but calling that working hard is insulting to dev like ghost ship games
