Amazing love letter to Ace Combat, surpassing it in many ways.
People like to say to play AC for the story and Wingman for the game play but I think that is unfair. Wingman has a very engaging story and excellent characters (if it didn't, people wouldn't be commissioning the voice actors to do silly lines.) AC has the advantage of time, its been around for so long that it has a developed lore and playerbase. I really hope that Project: Wingman continues to release DLC and, eventually, new games to create an entire universe. I would say my only complaint is that you basically need to fly the Tomcat to get your WSOs voicelines but who am I kidding I love the Tomcat.
Great gameplay with an eye on how near-future tech might affect aerial war, well-developed set piece battles and engaging mini-objectives (pecking away at an enemy airship is always fun.)
Possibly the finest arcade-style air combat game on the market, Project Aces take notes (and hire/outsource to these guys.)

Great game for those unfamiliar to the RTS genre. Not focused on aggressive micro or actions per minute, rather clever positioning and efficiency. It almost plays like a puzzle game at times, knowing that there is an ideal way to accomplish your goals. Great setting, of course, backed up by engaging, innovative gameplay. Was a bit rough around the edges on release, but the devs continue to support the game and add content for it. Delightful little game!

Cool series, not cool how we got softlocked on a puzzle and felt stupid for an hour before looking up a guide and realizing the game actually bugged out! How fun! Do not buy.

Excellent gameplay, excellent story, excellent theme, excellent tone, excellent everything. I simply can not say anything else without spoiling it. One of the best games ever made, please buy it and play it.

As of 12/22/24, totally not worth spending money on. Excellent bones, I think there will be a good game here in a few years. Progression system is fine but the game shines in the creativity it allows you to make your own train and decide when to move, when to stop for resources, etc. Great gameplay loop that needs (and seems designed around) advanced options.
Very cozy, left me wanting more, predicting it will be a great game q1 of 2026 and I will amend my review if so.

Good but short, I got it half off for 2 bucks but it honestly feels like freeware or a demo

Finished the game two minutes shy of two hours. I could refund the game, but I am not going to because I think it was worth the 13 bucks. Without spoiling anything, the game has some really fascinating gameplay mechanics that I have never seen in another game, but none of them are really explored in-depth. The story is compelling but not for everyone. I thought it was interesting but I, personally, am not going to be thinking about it and delving into it a month from now.
It's a step or two above a walking sim, more of like an interactive movie - In a good way!
There are things this game does that I laud but talking about them would spoil the fun. It plays very much into your expectations of what is happening in a game, if that makes sense. For instance, a sound repeating in a game with a frozen screen is a telltale sign of a crash. Not exactly the case here. Really plays with your perception, very neat. Overall, a good game if you like the story and atmosphere.

The Lobster. Classic diner, only place in this city you can get a good cup of coffee. Well, not good, but better than the dishwater the machines on the corner pour out. Perp's a toughie. Rifle, long range, missed one shot, hit with the other. Failing grade but he still got the kill.

Sad. Quite the name for a bar, tonight it fits, like every night. I have her picture still, tucked in my coat pocket. I don't look at it. I never do, but it's still there. High caliber rifle suggests a sniper, but no broken windows. Whoever did this was inside, emotional, panicky, missed their first shot, but still picked up the casings.
An old lover? I tap my hand on the pocket, I can feel the photo inside, can almost feel the ink under the image, can remember the strokes like I just wrote it. M L F. Old lover. Maybe jilted, upset, broken. Possible lead for the killer.
Key is wearing out, need a new one, before I lock myself out of my apartment. Hit the gramophone, pop the whiskey. Done all I can tonight, pick up the pieces tomorrow. They're out there, somewhere.
Tear this city apart to find them if I need to.

10/10 excellent game must buy.
