This game is so good, genuinely. I love everything Supergiant puts out, loved Hades even more, and their first sequel is a huge banger too. It's got more content on its first day of EA than Hades 1 has in its 1.0 release (not to say Hades 1 is bad, to be clear, just to say that Supergiant knows what they're doing with roguelites now and did NOT ♥♥♥♥ around with this). It's a huge game and it's so good. The polish is immaculate. If you think you'll like it even a little, buy this.

So I really like this mod so far, I've only played a few hours. I'd say a majority of the new characters are really fun to play, especially the new standard mode character and the first three characters of Downfall mode. However, the rest of the Downfall characters are very very convoluted and overwhelming to play in terms of mechanics. They feel a bit unfinished in that aspect to be quite honest. The first three Downfall characters and the new standard character have one new mechanic that really needs explaining that the game gives you a quick tutorial for during your first combat with them, and then the rest don't have this same tutorial. In this and the mechanics of the rest of the characters, it makes them feel really unfinished and, truthfully, kind of unfun to play. This is a promising expansion mod and I'd recommend giving it a shot, but I think it needs a lot of retooling in some places and a bit of polish.

It's pretty fun but there's a lot of toxicity lol. Feels better to play with friends though.

It's alright I guess

The first Risk of Rain game is one of my all time favorite roguelites and the sequel does not, in any way, disappoint. Even just in early access, this game is phenomenal. It's feels just like the first but in three dimensions. It looks beautiful, the music is gorgeous, and the gameplay is challenging but not frustrating. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys roguelites.
Edit for Survivors of the Void expansion: They changed some things in balance that I'm not a fan of, but as of today Hopoo said that they would be fixing and/or keeping an eye on most if not all of them. Also beyond those few balance changes, the expansion is incredible and I would still recommend buying it anyway if you enjoy this game. 11/10 Hopoo you've blown me away again. <3
