Cobalt Core is a lightweight deck builder card game take on the roguelike space adventure genre other games like FTL is best known for. Incredibly easy to pick up and play for a quick round. It's got cute animal friends as the crew as an added bonus.

An amazing racing experience that is constantly updated with new cars every month with no need to purchase additional DLC. Horizon 5 reiterates on a tried and true formula of the Forza Horizon series taking it to Mexico. Great game to play on your own or coop with your friends.

Got it on sale and I regret not buying it sooner. 100%'d all the achievements and S-ranked all but 3 songs in less than 5 hours, the whole ride was a thrill. Highly recommended as not just a funny game, but also as a entry level rhythm game; learning curve is very shallow and easy to understand.

I can't recommend this game enough. Hotshot Racing perfectly captures the very epitome of 90s arcade racing akin to Daytona and Virtua Racer. The gratuitous amount of customization is admittedly unnecessary, but is definitely welcomed, especially since the parts unlock in a way you'd unlock stuff in an N64 racing game. Different gamemodes in addition to standard circuit racing are also a fun time. Buy this game, play online with your friends, and get them to spike their controller as you boost past them right before crossing the finish line.

Bullet hell? Roguelike? Loot-em-up? It's got it all! A little game about moving fast and tearing through a room full of enemies as fast as possible. It's challenging, but fair. As an added bonus, the main character is a fox :D

For a free, quick romp in singleplayer, definitely worth the download. I fondly remember the online multiplayer from the original source mod back in the day, so I do have to ask; where are all the multiplayer deathmatch maps? Wheres co_munism? I hope more multiplayer maps get added in the future.

If you buy one game for VR make sure it's Beat Saber. VR is still in infancy and a lot of developers are trying to adapt genres to make use of this crazy new tech. Beat Saber hits the nail on the head with no compromises.

A puzzle game with a very unique gimmick. Plays like Chip's Challenge, but you make the rules... ...to an extent. So many puzzles I feel stuck on, until I finally get it and feel simultaneously stupid and smart. Great game to pick up and play for 5 minutes or 5 hours.

I would only pay for this if you want to support the developer. He hasn't updated it in forever, plus I run into a number of bugs (such as "paste special" being constantly offset randomly even though I have it set to 0,0,0). I also had to pull some entity definitions from GTKRadient in order to get this to compile for bot routes (check out my tutorial).

Again, the only benefit this has over the free version you can download off the developer's site is cloud saves and supporting the developer. (who, again, has stopped updating since 2016. So I highly doubt we'll see the Source and Unity engine configurations that were promised)

Do you like exploration and resource gathering? But can't stand how so many exploration and resource management games are procedurally generated and as a result lack any semblance of level design? Then is Subnautica for you. I've now played through this game twice in addition to the early access hours I logged. There's so much you can do alongside playing the main storyline.

As for VR, I would not recommend it, at least not with the first generation of HMDs. The game requires you to be able to look at things really far away at details and lot of the time in VR you can't make it out until it's too close. The cluttered UI doesn't help much either in this regard. I would love to try this with a Rift S or Valve Index, but for now, I'm sticking with it as a desktop game.
